So...for several years, I have known that my retirement eligibility date is December 8, 2016, when I will have 30 years with my current employer. Unfortunately, I just found out a few days ago that the person who calculated my retirement made a mistake. My new and corrected retirement date is 10/11/2017.
So...I will have the 30 years in December, but about ten months of that 30 years my employment was in a temporary position and that does not count towards my retirement date...it is what it is...
I was not planning on retirement anyway, because I need to work for awhile yet, but it was a milestone that i was looking toward reaching and it is now delayed. Because my work environment is less than optimal, even on the best of days, it felt so good to know that I could retire in December if I could not tolerate the work place. Now, it has shifted and is ten more months down the calendar. Oh well, time will pass rapidly, especially the older I get, the faster time moves.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
