Got a phone message from someone regarding "important action" from the u.s. Treasury. Kinda freaks me out! Has anyone else gotten one of these calls. I'm scared to know what it's about. I do have debts but not sure how this is related.

The U.S. Treasury will NOT contact you by phone. First contact is done with a certified letter...

I think you are dealing with a scam... if they left a phone number... go to google and put in the number and see what it has to say...

Jaysus! Scamsters would stop at nothing, they know phishing wouldn't work so they revert to nuisance calls. :@

It sounds like a scam. The U. S. Treasury would not contact you in this manner. Follow Messenger's advice and google the number.

dumb phone caller is scammer.....dont sweat about it just be glad it wasnt live high pressure people talking at you to get info from you

Thanks everybody!! I did my research and found out it was a scammer soon after. Appreciate everyone's help and encouragement :)

Last year I filed my computer my taxes online. I went to the IRS website and a small window came up and said a warning: it said " this is not the IRS website but it looks like the IRS website" and then it said "do you want to proceed?" I immediately closed out of that window and closed my browser and cleared all the cookies and history and scanned my computer and then proceeded to do my taxes online.

It was a spoofing site and had I proceeded I would have had my identity stolen and my money stolen.

Wow, mybestself, that's scary!! It seems like people are getting more and more able to hack things and steal identities etc. these days, it's insane. Good thing that warning came up!
