just a reminder here... for people with any chronic illness-- especially having this crap, since we have such a wide range of symptoms, and most of us see multiple specialists -- make sure that you keep on top of your docs AND your meds. if you need treatment or help or a new med, make sure you are getting it. don't let the docs or NPs or receptionists push you around or blow you off. and make sure you thoroughly read all the info on your meds and inter-reactions with other meds.
docs mostly likely wont stay on top of it all, you will have to do this for your self. after all, if a mistake is made, the one paying for it will be you. look up treatments or meds, print them out and bring them to your docs. YOU are your own advocate. if you want to get help, you will have to make it happen.
keep it up even though it's hard and frustrating. and make sure IF your aren't happy w/ your current doc you find another one.
peace and blessings to you all....
best of luck and see you around

Absolutely! I keep track of everything between appointments on the computer. How I'm feeling, how meds are (or are not) working, questions, new research I've found, everything. Then just before my appointment I print out 2 copies to take with me. I give one copy to the nurse who takes my BP to put in my file (I ask her to and watch as she puts it in). My doctor reads over it before he comes in and then we discuss it. I have my copy so I know we've covered everthing I wanted). This has worked great for us. My doctor seems to like that he has an overview of what's going on and I get the answers I need. I research every RX before I fill it. I've made sure my Rheumy and my PCP communicate (they send copies of all tests to each other), I make sure, in my notes, that they both know EVERY med I am taking. It has saved me a lot of frustration and, I believe, helped me to get better care. I'm one of hundreds that the doctors see. They are the only 2 doctors I see. It just makes sense to stay on top of everything.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
