I have been receiving SSDI for 3 years and I have been very grateful but I am getting very depressed staying home and having no routine. I have always loved working, I loved the socialization, the fact I was being productive, the routine, the sense of accomplishment of finishing projects. I tried 2 years ago to return to work and it didn't take long before I had to quit, I started having flare-ups and a lot of anxiety.
I have been offered a 15-20 hour position in a quiet, low lit, on stress office
mainly doing data input and answering phones. They are nice of enough to let me go in when I want as long as I put in at least 15 hours. I am so afraid of letting these people down and I am afraid of losing my SSDI but I need to do something. I got to the point that I wouldn't get dressed for the day because I had no where or no one to see. I was isolating myself and that isn't mentally healthy.
I have tried volunteering but both times I was overloaded with work and crashed.
Does anyone work and receive SSDI? How does it effect benefits. I tried reading through everything but I am totally confused!! Any help would be appreciated!

Your best bet is to either call Social Security or go to one of their offices so that you can get a through explanation. Take care.
