the hassle and the drama from the psycho ex bf moving out a month ago taken it's toll, thanks to him causing enough drama even after he moved out!

she's bed ridden. absolutely can't move around. bed-bound, and had to get a chair potty to put next to the couch for her since she cant even make it to her room or the bath rm. got her a wheelchair to wheel her around to the shower and to her appts. she has surgery Thursday to correct it.
i have to get her everything and keep having to get up and do everything for her. i had enough trouble taking care of my self (thanks to fibro), LET ALONE now her. pushing her around Monday for her appt took me DOWN..... i'm still paying for it.
problem is: my younger bro lives w/ us but works full time. when he IS home, he doesn't really give a rats ass about her.... i have to fight tooth and nail to get him to do ANYTHING small for her. i'm burnt out and feel like i can't keep doing this. i feel like shit and like i'm crashing.
mom has been on the phone all day with medicare (she's 61) and trying to get some form of in-home care. i pray to God something happens soon cuz i don't know what's gonna happen to me....
i'm about to beat the crap out of my bro or find someone who will. whatever happen to family duty?

I hear ya, darlin....I'm an only child, and my parents are divorced.....thankfully, they both live here (mom is actually next door)....I'm taking both to separate doc appts now, esp since my mom fainted and fell last month, breaking some bones in her face....
I would definitely check and see if there is some home health care that could come in and help with the shower, meals, etc....I know my aunt had that after shoulder surgery, and it was a godsend for her....don't know what agency it was, but do some checking around....and make sure you REST anytime she does.....this is hard on your body too, I know.

And Also someone mentioned a nursing home rehab! That might not be such a bad idea. If she falls on you at home it can cause even more problems. This way she could have 24 hour care. I used to work in one. YEARS ago. Before I gave up my liscense. This is what we did. After falls we helped get them back on their feet so they could go home. It was awesome. It wasn't a nursing home it was a Rehab Clinic.

again.. so sorry to hear bout your mom... how awlful..... im 52.. and man wouldnt need anything like a broken leg right now.. I sure hope you can get some help in there for you and her .... gotta love family... I dont see or talk much to mine.. sigh............big hugs hun.. :)

Interesting that the one disabled from FM is the one who cares.
You've got to get some help or you'll both have to be institutionalized.
