If anyone doesn't get why it says "wicked", it's new England slang. Like saying really tired but with one less R to not pronounce. Odd fact, I don't have a Boston accent and my sister does..she has spent way more time with people who have one and that affects how you speak if you give it time. Bf has a hint of a southern accent because he hasn't lived in the south since he joined the navy out of high school. Not even sure how that turned into but I'm gonna run with it.
Southern accents are considered to be the most attractive in America
It's unknown exactly why people find accents attractive, but biologists suspect it's because a foreign accent would be an indication of a diverse gene pool
My coworker hates accents, which is just blasphemy, IMO.
Which specific accent you're attracted to can depend on social factors...a country that you love or want to visit, or one that you consider mysterious. On the flip side, negative stereotypes can influence it too. Some research has found that people prefer accents from more prosperous countries (western Europe, Australia etc) and find accents from less developed countries/non English speaking countries less attractive-what I read used Africa and parts of Asia as examples. I never thought about that but my favorites are Australia and Ireland, although I actually have heard some beautiful African accents too. Something to think about.
And I'm now running later than I should be, need to get ready for work. Not looking forward to it. I like to start my day with cuteness so I'm gonna start your days with it too. Today's cuteness is presented by Koshka (brown tabby) and Alli (dilute tortie)

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

I been up since 4 am from pain didnt need to be up until 6am. I have 3 appts today. My depo shot, my PCP and my therapist. two are in person.
Struggling along here, mostly b/c with one bad arm and one bad knee, I can't even use crutches, but .... taking advantage of my "vacation". Me no cook, me no clean, me no whatever. The cable here does have a documentary channel, and that's been pretty good to zone out to.
I'm fascinated by accents. My mom still has a faint one, and some of her family. I do, fo rthat matter. Regional or national, it's just intriguing. My hubby's Scots fam in Glasgow aren't bad, but my relatives up in Quebec speak Polish first, then Quebecois/French, and their English is amazingly accented in ways you'd never imagine possible!
HUGS to all. Thank you for kicking things off, Miki!
Miki, hope work goes well. Your kitties are adorable.
Bummer you have so much going on, Angela. I hope you can rest later today.
Leo, glad you have WiFi and an interesting channel for you. You sound happy for the first time in a long time. You just keep resting.
Hubby has a nasty cold. He coughed all night long and kept me up. He promised he would only work for 2 hours this morning, then come home and rest. He won’t be around anyone at work.
I am going to fill out addresses on my Christmas card envelopes today. It doesn’t hurt my hand much anymore, so I hope to get them all done. No Christmas letter this year. I don’t have it in me. I just had a few sentences printed on the back of my photo cards. I ordered address labels, which came. And I even ordered my postage stamps as I’m just not even up to the post office this year. I do love doing Christmas cards, but this has been a rough year, and yet it continues.
My legs and thigh really hurt this morning. Getting up is still extremely difficult from pain. My back hurts somewhat, but not as bad as my thigh. I’m looking forward to Monday and praying for help. I’m leaving my whole ankle thing be right now. I just can’t handle anymore doctor stuff at the moment.
Later
Paving and a lot of noise out front. Got notified that my mothers yard contractor to blow the leaves was there today versus the 26th. Had to jettison out of bed and drive over there to arrange payment because Mom didn’t want to deal with it. And, my partner broke out in hives everywhere from his COVID booster last night. He is covered I hives. I just got home to see if he wants to go to Urgent Care. Taking Benedryl since last night.
I’m not feeling great myself. Kind of headachy with a slight runny nose. It’s probably weather related. Lots of mold from the leaves and everything is wet.
I’m getting my haircut later. After that, I will probably call it quits for the day.
Miki - thanks for starting us off today. That was really interesting. I hope that your day is tolerable.
Leo - Rest and rest some more. You do sound a lot happier so that makes me feel better about you.
AngelaJo - That’s a busy day! I hope that everything goes smoothly.
Ida- Sorry to hear that Hubby has a nasty cold. We not only have the worst COVID outbreak in the US going on but also a huge flu outbreak at Michigan State. The CDC is on site investigating the flu outbreak. I hope that you get your Christmas cards all done today. I usually send out a few mostly to family overseas.
My Doctor said since i been drinking these drinks from plexus for weight loss, the active one that gives you energy and full of vitamins, and taking the probiotic and bio cleanse my health and blood work are WONDERFUL!!!! My lungs sound amazing she said for someone whos had pneumonia 6 times you would never know it!
I almost passed out at moms after we went to town from the pain im in so im sitting with my feet up right now. i am exhausted and ready to cry in pain. I went to Walmart for the first time in about 6 months (masked up with sanitizer.). I am DONE Christmas shopping except need to pick up one thing for one person! WOOHOO!!!!!
I am in so much pain..... ever since i got my covid booster.... My PCP said to increase my motrin 800 to 3 time sa day for a few days and see if that helps. we can not do steroids right now because it could stop the vaccine from helping as much.
