Where To Work?

I'm about to turn 20 years old and my mom has never let me have a job becuase of how bad my fibromyalgia gets. And I have no idea where to work. Like what job should I even get? What job is not staying on your feet to long, like i feel like i need a desk job but where? I live in Las Cruces NM theres nothing but fast food resturants and mall jobs that barley hire.... Any suggestions squad?

Go to the state employment agency in your area. They should be able to test you.

If your doctor thinks you can work. Don't worry about what your mother says. You might not like the job or pay in the beginning. But hang in there.

You also need to look into going to business school or a community college.

Yes, I agree. I would take some community college classes... and start out with an easy plate, not too much.

Tough questions as all of our symptoms are so variable and unpredictable. I'd start with a part time position and see if that is even manageable. Maybe for a telemarketing company. Sit down job and you follow a script. There are also part time jobs doing other telephone work which will allow you to work from home. Check out the web site Indeed for jobs - that's a pretty good resource.

I agree with Blue about getting some college in - that is more important. The college can test you to see what careers might be options. You can ask for accommodation because of your illness in terms of meeting assignment deadlines etc. Good luck to you and take care.
