I don't see anyone else on this Saturday morning so I'll kick things off. Hopefully the rest of you are sleeping in a bit. Clayton NEEDS his breakfast by 7:30 AM and is rather insufferable until he gets it.
Some of my Mom's family resides in TX. I think their experience is different than most as anything they do is significantly greased ($$$$). I mean, when you downsize to a 5 bedroom home when the kids move out, conclusions are drawn. . . They are also super religious and conservative so they are happy there. I don't think it's for me, but I hear Austin is pretty chill. Anyway, stock up on batteries because I thought they couldn't even supply enough electricity to keep things going?
My MIL survived COVID against all odds, is out of the hospital and the kids elected to move her and my FIL in with my SIL instead of having her transported back to the care facility. My SIL is striving to be the martyr in all this, but then makes statements like "oh, we haven't brushed her teeth in a while" and "feeding people is such a chore". She also provides a steady TV diet of news coverage, but is then amazed when the elderly folks get so agitated. So she has to call on an almost nightly schedule to complain.
She's also attempting to feed two dementia patients dinner at 8 PM. For those who don't know, dementia patients "sundown" after dark, which is a series of extremely altered behaviors. So dinner gets really nuts because she is doing it in the worst part of the day.
Anyway, I found some adult toys on Amazon after I took a training on dementia for work that I think we'll send her. Dementia is like aging in reverse, so a lot of the things we use for preschool children can also be applied to adults. My FIL (who is in very early stages) should be able to sit with her and also work with the puzzles and water painting while my SIL can catch up on email, etc. Hopefully it will keep thier hand motor skills intact to help them continue to feed themselves. They also suggested that some of the music streaming services have "dementia stations" that play retro and soothing music. These patients have extreme anxiety caused by the brain deterioration and resulting confusion, so most activities are designed around soothing them.
Also hooking them up with some trials of the food delivery services where the meals are already prepared. If anyone has used these and can suggest a specific service, please LMK. We actually have some local catering companies who provide the same thing here, so I can also look area-specific for her.
So, good news, all the biopsies from my surgery came back cancer free. However, I continue to have complications. My surgeon says she will likely see me on an OR table before August for a hysterectomy. My boss said she will cancel any programs during the time I am out and that she will "give" me 4 weeks to return to work before she fires me. They have already told me that because of my heart issue I will spend several days longer in the hospital for observation than the typical patient and to expect a longer recovery time even with the robotic surgery due to the strain on my body.
My boss thinks I am "milking" the heart issue "they say that you might have". No, the cardiologist says I have it. Also, the anethesiologist, two charge nurses, my OB surgeon, and a bunch of regular nurses who all thought I was going to go into cardiac arrest that day. In fact my cardiologist told me point blank that he knew I was in pretty good physical shape when he saw the numbers I was posting, because someone who isn't would have arrested before their heartrate became that high. But I am not skinny, I've been lifting weights for 25+ years and am what men usually refer to as "thick" or "comfortable to sleep on" or just the other day one of our maitenance guys at work said "holy crow you are STRONG, and I don't mean just for a girl". (He's in his 70s and I have known him for close to 20 years, he meant it as a compliment.) So my boss has made many subtle digs to the the fact that if I just lost weight my heart issue would go away. The problem is with the electrical system, so umm weigh isn't really a factor. And they don't want to put me on meds because those would take away the workouts that I do, which is keeping my mental health good as well.
Sorry I am rambling, trying to process the way she is acting. Her behavior is so bizarre at this point that complaints from people in other organizations in the building and the facilities crew AND members of other organization's board of directors have started to come in to me. They range from, "Your boss walked into my office the other day without even knocking on the door. I handle sensitive info in here and would prefer that it didn't happen" to "Your boss, OMG WTF is wrong with her????" Except they didnt' use initials, or even pseudo swears. And the other administrative board member went back to his board and said "I don't know how their doors are staying open, but it's not her doing it. She doesn't even know where she is. Is it "My real name"?". The only recourse would be to get our administrative board involved and there is no way for that not to get ugly. Althought I have seen the emails she sends to them, they look and sound like a kindergartener wrote them so not sure how they don't know there is a problem?
Miki -- I am sorry about your baby. I know you are trying so hard. Motley wasn't able to get chemo on Thursday. We are going to try again on Monday.
Bec -- If you can see this, how about those Chiefs? ;) And no, I'm not a Swifty, but that devilish smile on that Kelce kid has this gal wanting to be about 20 years younger and a whole lot less married.
Fantod -- "So tired I want to throw up" -- I can so relate to that.
Leo-- This is not as well-written as yours.
OK, off to chase down some "people kibble".

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Well..my thyroid might be a problem. I have a high TSH but normal T4. TSH increases when your thyroid isn't producing enough thyroid hormones...if only the TSH is high, it could be early or subclinical. Will wait and see if they want to do anything about that or just recheck it at some point. Either it'll even out or my T4 will drop. Meanwhile it's hot and I'm working with Karen, and I have no...

I'm so happy that your biopsy results were good. That had to be a huge burden lifted off of you. Your boss is a piece of work. I'd be collecting information to go to the administrative board if things are that bad. If outside organizations are noticing, it's time. And, she sure shouldn't be threatening your job because of your health issues.
I hope that your Sunday is decent!
