Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

I was diagnosed at age 22. Lyrica was the treatment. I never took it though and decided to "deal with it". Im 31 now and ive got a few new things going on phyically. Fibroids, PMDD etc. I cant simply cope anymore. Its time to look into treatment options. I never really smoked pot before until the last 6 months. I thought maybe it would help. It didnt but I kinda really enjoy it! Helps my PMDD for sure. Im curious if ingesting it would help Fibro. Ill muster the courage to try it eventually. The BIGGEST thing for me is the Fibro Fog and tiredness. I seriously cant stand how utterly stupid I feel some days. Tired and mentally at a stand still. I feel guilty as all hell when i have a BED day. SOOOOO my question is what has helped you? Is there a specific vitamin or perscription that has helped?
Highest Regards,
your Fibro Pal.. Julia Goolia ;)

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

I have found that a warm shower or bath helps. I recently bought an electric heated throw blanket, which is great! Sometimes I just put it around my shoulders - depending on where the pain is the worst at the moment. Your doctor can work with you to try different medication combinations. There are antidepressants that work for Fibro also, and might be taken with Lyrica or Neurontin or Gabapentin. I have tried them all, now I am trying Nortriptyline. Best Wishes my Friend.
I hope this helped and best wishes.
A key point to remember is that the longer a chronic pain cycle continues, the harder it becomes to manage or stop. When starting medication, allow a minimum of two weeks or longer to notice a change in your symptoms. It is going to take time and likely several adjustments to find the right dosage and regimen for you.
As far as the "fog" goes, you should consider having a sleep study done. Fibromyalgia interrupts the deep sleep cycle with short bursts of high intensity brain activity. Your muscles require deep sleep in order to recover from the days activities. No deep sleep means higher levels of pain and cognitive problems. Managing the sleep issues associated with Fibromyalgia is a critical part of treatment. To that end, a medication for sleep is needed too.
And finally, I'd like to recommend that you purchase the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies." It is available on Amazon. This is our go to book on this board.
Welcome and take care.
Cheers.
