Morning everyone. It's looking like the rainy weather we've had for the last week is finally moving out of here. Florida might not be so lucky (unless something has changed), so maybe keep them in your thoughts if you can.
I don't really have anything interesting or exciting for check in today. I'm burnt out and emotionally exhausted and depressed. All the bad things in the news are really getting to me, it's like it gets worse every day. My sister is a teacher and was telling me about the new policies her school has enacted since Texas, and also that for pride month they put up flags around the school and on day one kids ripped them down and put them in the toilets. And sadly, I was more surprised they even went up in the first place, especially without parents trying to storm the school (although apparently the Facebook group for the city is exploding with homophobic comments right now). This is the city we grew up in. I probably worry about her more since she came out last year, but I think she's better than I am about letting those comments slide (or if they get to her, she's also good at hiding it).
Enough with the depressing shit, I am determined to end this with something more positive. I've got an adorable orange cat on my lap, and I can't help but smile at him when he drools on me (some cats drool when they're happy and purring, and Noah is one of them...but it's kinda cute that he's so happy he can't control himself). And a lot of my flowers are blooming, which brings a lot of life and color to my yard. I'll leave you with this photo from the other night, this bloomed for the first time-I've had it a couple years-and when I went to take a picture Miki decided to photo bomb

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Wow that’s a beautiful picture, like art.
That’s funny what you were saying about Noah, once & a while Baby will do that too lol.
Big hugs <3
I don’t watch the news. It’s easier on my heart and mind.
Your picture is adorable! My flowers are just starting to peek out.
Hope your weekend goes well! It will be fun having 2 check ins. Lol
Missy, glad you like the photo, I love it too. Couldn't stage that if I tried. I'm also glad my lawn isn't atrocious haha (I mowed it last weekend, but I wait until it's a jungle and I can't stand to look at it before I mow because I hate doing it. I'm also glad I don't live somewhere pretentious where people will report you to the town-like my parents do). Hope you get lots of cuddle time with Baby this weekend
Time to walk the puppy and make myself get some burning done before I start my weekend. Miki is 8 and I got her as an adult, but she is still the puppy. All the cats have been called kittens but mostly Koshka because she still looks kittenlike at almost 9 years old. I also got her at 7 months, she's the only one who I actually had as a kitten
My stomach is still pretty unhappy today. It’s actually seems to be my lower GI tract more than my stomach. I’ve eaten some peanuts recently. I’m sensitive to them so I’m going to knock that off.
Smurf sang the song of his people in my ear this morning. Saturday he gets Allerpet aka “special sauce” lol applied during his daily grooming session. The little weirdo just loves it. He is always very anxious on Saturday to be rubbed down and brushed out.
I haven’t told you guys but I signed up to be a cat sitter a while back. My first and only clients just rebooked me for 14 days which starts today. They have two cats one of which is a bit difficult. Apparently, I did well enough the first time that they decided to have me back again. They are overseas on a trip. And, yesterday I got a booking from a new person for a couple of days in July close to my house. This is something that I enjoy, it’s stress free and doesn’t take up a lot of time. So, it’s manageable even on bad days.
Not much else going on. My partner opened today. He will probably come home and nap for a bit. He was grumpy and tired yesterday after work.
Thanks for starting us off today Miki. I was worried about you yesterday. Those kids at school should be ashamed of themselves. From what you said, it’s clear where they learned it from.
Merry - I hope that you are doing OK today!
LilMissy - Cats are the best! Smurf is now sacked out next to me on the bed. He is keeping a close eye on me. Heaven forbid that I should sneak off somehow before his spa session.
Got to prep for pizza and salad dinner. Go check on and feed cats. Then I need to pop into the pool and vacuum. It was too windy to stay in it that long yesterday. I did the bare minimum and then shocked it.
I hope that everyone who follows is doing OK!
My pain is very high. Mom got a cat yesterday, hoping it helps keep less mice in her house, now shes afraid to introduce her to the dogs (she has been around dogs they said and tolerates them well) Her dogs only one has been around a cat. If it doenst work out she said we can have the cat. We named her Maddie (Short for madeline) Named after one of my daughters i miscarried. Tomorrow Dad would of been 82............. makes this weekend hard nad yesterday was 19 months that he passed away........
I posted on Merrys check in. I hope everyone has a decent weekend.
