I may have discovered the origin of the (mistaken) idea that the eagle in the US President's seal changes which way it looks in peace and war. IT doesnt, btw. It always faces to *its* right, but that is the *left* for the person viewing it! So, when people say it faces "right", they meant from the eagle's perspective, but to someone viewing it, the eagle is facing that viewer's *left*. Hence confusion! Hah!

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Dear daughter wants to do some shopping this morning. Food and what-not. So I’m going with her. It will be hard as my shoulders are aching so bad this morning. I took some Excedrin.
I need to put my laundry away today. At least it’s all folded. That’s about it for me today.
Have a great start to your weekend, everyone.
I have so much to do today and at 930 going to bring my friend and her 2 little boys their presents and some cookies and cupcakes. Then back to baking and making candy. I am hurting but its slightly better today. Mood wise blah............
Husband was sick, but got better. It didn't last long, he just had to go to an auction and got his feet wet, now sick in bed again, I asked if he could help me but that never happened. I went to the grocery, unloaded the groceries and started taking them up the steps moving them from step to step.
I wish is had the house several years ago with just one step from garage into house, only people like us would understand the extra pain from steps.
I finally got the last few bags up, stood outside and started crying and asking to die now,
I started to think positive thoughts which were few and far between. More cursing then anything,
I am preparing all my side dishes in crockpots. Fix them and forget them, six crockpots waiting for ingreds,
I know I will hear smart ass remarks but this year I just might scream and say they should be thankful.
The older I get the worse i get, but people don't understand even husbands,
Hope you all remember to take time to sit down and have some herbal tea with a snuggly blanket,
I took a little fall in the kitchen yesterday. #notaballerina
No damage, just pretty sore from the jolt. Tripped over my feet moving too fast.
We have company coming later today. I would prefer to stay in bed. But, I still have some dusting and odds and ends to do. I hope that they don't stay long. I'm so tired.
My partner has grocery and Christmas shopping to do today. He has nerves of steel. I would not be out in that mess.
I hope that everyone has a decent day. I will check back later.
Leo, thanks for the link and getting us started this weekend. I read about the color of burial stone your mom wants. Geez you have your hands full with her. I'm sure it will turn out just fine. Many hugs and blessings on your weekend. I hope your ribs are doing better?
Miki, I was so glad to read yesterday that you don't have to work next weekend. Yay! It's so hard working with a lot of pain. I hope today goes fast for you and you can cuddle up later and rest.
Angela, I'm sorry you're hurting so much and yesterday was so bad for you. I love that you are making goodies for your friends. Rest a lot afterwards.
ida, I'm glad you're going shopping with your daughter despite the pain. I know that's hard and it sure gets old. I hope you have a good day.
magichope, At least you are making a lot food for them. I hope it goes good for you. And you are right, no body understands this pain.
I was swamped at work yesterday. I read everyone's post I just didn't have time to reply to everyone. I enjoyed reading what everyone makes for Christmas dinner. I really want to try Ida's oyster dish, it sounds yum. We usually do ham, turkey, and chicken, and the same basic side dishes as thanksgiving, and way too many desserts. My girls want oreo balls but I really don't want to make them, they have enough junk to eat.
We made gingerbread houses last night at my moms with all her grandkids, I just love spending time with all my nieces and nephews, it doesn't happen enough. Today is groceries and then I think I have a few more presents to wrap. I can't remember. I'm taking my girls to our usual church today at 4pm for their Christmas service, and then we are going to our old church tomorrow morning for their Christmas service. I fee like I have a lot to do and I really didn't get enough sleep. Healing hugs to everyone.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
Angela, you sure have a full day. Glad you are feeling a little bit better.
Magic, sorry it was so hard to bring in your groceries. Hope you can rest today.
Miki, hope the driveway won’t be too tough to clear. You sure deserve a break.
Glad you didn’t break anything, Fantod. You may be sore for a bit though. Just what you need for Christmas, right? Take care.
Twin, the gingerbread houses sound fun. As do the church services. We have 2 tomorrow. Hope your body holds up for the holidays.
Oh my. My daughter. 4 different grocery stores! I stayed in the car for 2 of them. She is such a go-getter. I then took her home and I went to Kohl’s for one last thing for the baby and a new robe for me for our trip to NM. I had a 30% off coupon and $5 Kohl’s cash. So I paid $23 for everything. That was nice.
My shoulders are throbbing. I have the heating pad on now.
Leo, thanks for posting check-in every day. What's your family doing for Christmas?
My cough has changed from a dry, spastic cough to wet, raspy, productive stuff. My husband says this is good because I'm not spasming anymore, but I disagree... rumbling in my chest means there's crap in my lungs which isn't good. Btw, hubby accidentally fried my heating pad. It literally sizzled and smoked. He forgot the current here is 2x the voltage than in the US and plugged it in thinking it would help my pain. "POP! Sizzzzlleeee....." Whoops, I guess we need a new one.
Hard to believe Christmas Eve is here... it doesn't feel like it. Can I get a re-do of this past week please? One where I didn't spend it in bed?
Some of my father's siblings, my cousins, and their wives are having a get together today. I was really looking forward to this *last* week... but I got sick and being sick takes all my energy, and I hate coughing around people. Plus, who feels like partying when they're sick? ugh.
Pretty much after today, we only have Monday and then we fly out to Jogja to see some 9th century temples. I only got to do a fraction of what I set out to do here. To find my father's property and see if I have a half brother. Another was to dig around about our ancestry because I heard it was discovered that we're of royal lineage. I feel like a failure.
Angela, I hope all the baking went well (I bet it's tasty) and your mood improved.
Ida, that was a lot of shopping. But you got a good deal there. I hope your shoulder pain is doing better.
Magic, the house we sold a couple years ago had stairs and I vowed to live in one story places from then on. And you're right about people not understanding. If you try to tell them, they think you're crazy. Your family better be grateful for all that food.
Miki, I hope someone has helped you with the driveway.
Fantod, lol..... your post about chugging chocolate to get through company cracks me up. I feel like that will be me in a few hours when dealing with my relatives. Although, it may be cough syrup in my case.
Twins, yay gingerbread houses. Sorry you got swamped at work. You would think they would lighten up for the holidays, not stress people out. Ugh. Sounds like a busy day for you. And 2 Christmas services? Sending strength and holiday cheer your way.
I hope I got everyone. In case I'm not back, have a Merry Christmas, everyone!
I suspect I am getting gift cards to Starbucks from my sis-in-law and the bro-in-law's wife this year. B/c I don't drink coffee and they know it. Beats a bar of soap from Trader Joe's, right? *headdesk* All this b/c my idiotic brother-in-law said I bake better than his wife, where his wife could hear. Seven years now, I've had to open a tiny package of soap, or chapstick, or a room spray, the stuff you can get at the checkout aisle at the grocery store.... Seriously? Yes, seriously. But she's "better in the world" than I am. OK, fine, keep better. I'll stay in the dirt with the unwashed *nice* people, ,thanks....
