I may have discovered the origin of the (mistaken) idea that the eagle in the US President's seal changes which way it looks in peace and war. IT doesnt, btw. It always faces to *its* right, but that is the *left* for the person viewing it! So, when people say it faces "right", they meant from the eagle's perspective, but to someone viewing it, the eagle is facing that viewer's *left*. Hence confusion! Hah!

I am taking my girls to our previous church's service this morning. We went to church yesterday at our current church and it was a wonderful service. Then this afternoon I need to get name tags on a few gifts and make sure everything is ready for the big night. I have some baking to do too, we can't forget cookies for Santa and bread for me. Christmas Eve is when we go to my husbands grandmas house for pizza and presents. Then I want to come home and get them ready for bed. I'm sure that will be a process after pizza and presents.
Leo, I hope you do get a Starbucks gift card, that sounds better than previous years and you can always get a hot chocolate. I can't believe the items she considers presents. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and you don't put two thoughts into his crazy family.

ida, I hope your body holds up for the holidays too. I'm glad you were able to get yourself something when you went shopping, that is how my mom likes to shop, and she hates depending upon me to go everywhere. I do one store and that's it. I like to do the health food store on the way to work, but sometimes we hit it after church. Merry Christmas!!
Blue, I feel sick for you that you've had to go through being sick in another country, and especialy when you're supposed to be enjoying time with family you never see. Sending you super healing hugs and praying your Christmas day is a turn around point for how you feel. Merry Christmas!!

Survived my company last night. I almost fell asleep towards the end of their visit.
I was hoping for a sound sleep last night. My stalker cat had other ideas. She was jumping around on the bed like she was on a pogo stick at 4 AM. And, she was in the master bath playing with and eating toliet paper. She is now sleeping soundly and I'm a wreck.
Getting up shortly to make cookies and brownies. Then, I plan to do nothing for the rest of the day.
Leo - A Starbucks card gets you pretty good hot chocolate. I happen to be partial to their iced lemon pound cake too.
Miki - Stay safe!! We are under a winter weather advisory which I have yet to investigate. It won't be as bad as your weather. I hope that the time with your family is not too stressful for you.
Twin - I like the way that you think! We can all be cozy and my partner can feed us! Hedge be happy to do it too. I hope that you have a wonderful time with your Huckabee's. Hugs!

Our snow had melted , but today it is snowing like crazy and cold. The next several days it is going to be snow, wind, and cold, and driving conditions hazardous on Christmas. We go to a family members house on Christmas day 3 towns away , so I hope the roads are better than the predictions.
My son went to work a little while ago, I hope they let him out early. He works at a car wash while attending college. Not really car wash weather with it actively snowing. This is the first time I have been alone on Christmas Eve my whole life since my brother didnt come here this year and my son is working, but my son will be home tonight.
The other day everyone was talking about what they ate for dinner on the holiday. Back in the day for years we use to go to 2 family houses on Chrstmas Eve and 2 on Christmas day and 3 of them had ham and thank goodness the last one didnt. Our newer tradition is Chinese takeout on Christmas Eve at home and Ham and lots of sides on Christmas Day at a family members house. I am bringing a corn dish that is naughty and I only make it for the holiday. Regular corn, cream style corn, corn muffin mix, butter, and sour cream. Easy to make and yummy.
I only have fill the stockings today with stuff already bought. Everything else has been wrapped etc. for days. Yay me.
Well I am off to do some dusting and then take a shower. Blue - I am sorry you are so sick while away. It is a bigger deal to have respiratory junk when you have asthma , so dont listen to your hubby re that. I hope you have an inhaler with you.
