Where would you go to escape It ALL? Hubbies who invite dinner guests while you still have abdominal pain, for example, is what I'm escaping.
I'm thinking this resort we were at. It wasn't eveb technically a resort, but for a poor kid like me? RESORT. In-hotel dining (OMG, sooooo good) and a pool, and a garden to wander full of glorious plants,a nd a short walk to about twenty places to window shop. Average temperature: 22*C/75*F. Never cold. Never too hot. A quick bus ride to the ocean. Weekly dancing in the nearby park. And, of course, every feral cat found me...

Today Hubby invited someone to dinner, a person I loathe, and here I am still unable to stand up straight. Joy.
So...
Where would YOU go?
Can be a place you've been, like me (it's my favorite getaway) or somewhere you've never been (I'm thinking of lavender fields in France maybe?)
DREAM BIG DREAMS!
Below, Santorini, Greece, another Dream Destination of mine

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...
My helper came over yesterday and we dove headfirst into my trashed gardens. I did drive by bulk weed pulling while he fine tuned. I got one bed cleared out and the big bed has no weeds in the front of it now. The back half isn't too bad. We are going to dig everything up and redo it, Everything looks bedraggled but at least the bulk of the weeds are gone. We were going to do more today but of us are exhausted.
I'd like to spend a summer on the North shore of Boston. I mean May to September. Or, in Canada up in Muskoka which is 0n Georgian Bay. As a kid, we were in Muskoka a lot. Either place is absolutely gorgeous. The humidity is probably more manageable in Muskoka. I love to visit Greece but I think I'd really suffer in the heat. Scotland is on my bucket list too.
I stopped at Tim Hortons and got an iced coffee to perk up. It's helping but not much lol. I have chores to do and I'll see where that takes me... Waves!
Fantod, I hope your car doesn’t need anything too crazy
I’m exhausted today…I barely made it to my crown appointment yesterday because there was a bad accident on the highway. I literally could have walked to the exit after where I got on faster than it took to drive. I had to stop at my parents house to pick up Miki, otherwise it’d be over an hour of driving after the appointment…with the price of gas right now, that was a last resort. I made it just in time, but it was stressful. I guess the crown has a little more potential for problems because the tooth was so worn down to begin with, there’s less surface for the crown to adhere to. Hopefully it’ll be fine…plan B is to just extract it because I don’t have the money for repeated procedures. I have a few hours to relax now that I’ve finished my errands and walked Miki, but I have to go to Leominster tonight and tomorrow night. Maybe I’ll eat something and lie down for a bit before I need to function again…
Leo, I agree with Miki that he should cook and clean up. My ex husband once invited his sister and her entire family to visit us in Hawaii and to stay at our house. He did not discuss it with me or get my permission. They trashed the house, and he expected me to cook for them and clean up after their messes. When I lived in Hawaii, my runaway-to place was Texas. Every time I had a huge fight with my ex, I would get on a plane and head to Texas. So, after I cleaned up the whole house, I went to Texas for 2 weeks.
Now that I live in Texas, my runaway-to place is Hawaii. Ha ha ha
Fantod, I hope it's nothing expensive. Everything is so damm expensive these days.
Miki, I hope the problems with your crown get sorted out. My husband just had an implant put in after the previous one failed and had to be surgically removed. Waited for bone to heal and then try again. The worst part is, the dental clinic charged him for the redo. Like, WTH. Sorry, I went of on a tangent here. Dental issues suck and they cost too much money.
The twins keep us busy around the clock....and sometimes the sleep deprivation gets the best of me. On Thursday, after being up all night with Baby Boy fussing and crying, my mom invited herself over and hung out in the nursery for EIGHT hours. And prior to my Mom's arrival, a couple from church came to see the babies. But as it turned out, they weren't there to help, they just wanted selfies with the babies.
My mom was not a help either.... in fact, she required supervision because she couldn't pick up any of the babies, I had to pick them up for her, hand them to her, and then later take them from her arms and put them back. We have two rocking chairs in the nursery, and she had trouble getting in and out of them. She couldn't change their diapers nor could she mix their formula and feed them. So essentially, I had 3 people to take care of. I was working on empty....fumes.... and my brain was complete mush. I told my mom to limit her visits to only a couple hours and only once a week. She of course took it so personally and said, "I am sorry I am such a burden to you," as she was leaving. Of course she has to make everything about her.
Anyway.....the babies have a 30 day check up tomorrow and hubby is taking the day off to help pack up the babies in the car and take them to their appointment. I can't wait to see how much weight they've gained. They already grew out of their preemie clothes. :)
It gets easier though. You got this.
