Morning everyone
The long week continues..I called about boarding Miki and VanGogh when I go to Jamaica in February because it's during school vacation and they're likely to be more full. Apparently I was right, because they only take regular daycare/grooming clients during high demand times, and I'm not a regular. So now I'm stressing because Miki is going to be almost 12 when we go, she's never been anywhere else for boarding, and she's not the best with other dogs. And she had a seizure last time she was boarded and the staff handled it *perfectly*. So at this point having to find somewhere new is really stressful. I'm not upset about their policy-honestly it makes sense to prioritize regular clients. We do the same thing at work, unless we're really slow-especially since covid when the veterinary industry became really overwhelmed and still hasn't fully recovered (not sure it will, honestly, because even before covid more people were leaving the industry than entering). I had some time to scour the internet and I think I found somewhere that has excellent reviews and appears to take the animal's personality and comfort into account for boarding/daycare, and has licensing/insurance, and is family owned. It's also in town, so closer than where Miki has been going. I put in a request for info online and will see how that goes, if I get a good impression I can sign her up for a "trial board" they offer, which is 2 days daycare with one night boarding to see how she does instead of just starting with a week and hoping for the best-another green flag. I'm still figuring out what to do with the cats. Tumble will probably do best with someone coming in to feed him daily, and I was going to board VanGogh but it turns out I'll be dropping them off Saturday afternoon and picking up Saturday morning, so he'll be ok for basically one day of someone just feeding and medicating him at the office. And if he has any issues, work is the best place to be. This assumes he's still here in 6 months (fingers crossed). Putting this in writing: 6 cats is too many. I love them and I'm not getting rid of anyone, but whenever I lose one, I'm staying with 5 at most. Never really intended or wanted to have this many; Tumble just...happened. I genuinely didn't think he'd get comfortable with me, but at the end of the day, I'm glad he did. There's no question that this is a better life for him.
So not looking forward to working with Karen today. I have no patience for her bullshit, which is the reason for something I had to basically fix the other day, but she will not listen to any of us. I'm gonna tell her that she's only insulting her own intelligence if she thinks she can't figure out how to do some of the (very simple) things she refuses to learn. Manager hopes I get to say it to her. Meanwhile, this is my current mood:

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Well..my thyroid might be a problem. I have a high TSH but normal T4. TSH increases when your thyroid isn't producing enough thyroid hormones...if only the TSH is high, it could be early or subclinical. Will wait and see if they want to do anything about that or just recheck it at some point. Either it'll even out or my T4 will drop. Meanwhile it's hot and I'm working with Karen, and I have no...

I drank about a gallon of ice coffee this morning. Didn't know what else to do. I'll regret it later. I'm just exhausted. Three more days of this. I do drop one client tomorrow so that will help a little bit.
So glad that you found a possible solution for Miki. It's so hard to find reliable service for pretty much anything. A test run seems like an excellent idea.
I need to toss in a load of laundry and do a couple of other things and then I'm out the door again.... Waves!
