This cat, y'all...he's probably not quite as weird as Noah was, but he's damn close. And that's saying something. I wish I could post videos on here, but considering the site doesn't work half the time, I'm not expecting it to happen. I was telling people at work yesterday that I had to get Miki an elevated feeder with a lip to help with splashing when she drinks-she's about 90% better but still drips a little water, and there's still some backwash in the bowl. This helps, and it has 2 smaller bowls so she can drink and still have a bowl of clean water. I left one of the old water bowls out, it's empty, but Haco loves to play in it and why take that away from him? He basically gets his front end in the bowl and digs. Weeks later, he's still amused. I think it'll the kinda reflective surface he likes? Occasionally he'll do that on the dishwasher, which is stainless steel. Weird no matter the reason.

I'm just not motivated today..it's rainy for the rest of the week. That means the tree us not coming out tomorrow, which means I hopefully won't have to do that and Miki's teeth on the same day. I need to call her vet because I never got confirmation on that happening tomorrow, it was a date they were throwing around. Not the end of the world if it isn't tomorrow, but I'd like to get it over with on a separate day from the tree. On top of that, I need to schedule Miki for boarding in June for my sister's wedding. It's a couple hours from here and I need to be there early to get my hair and makeup done with the wedding party. And I'm not driving home after, I know that. Then there's dealing with Karen, who continues to baffle us with her priorities...her daughter is dealing with severe mental health issues and was admitted to the psych ward last week. They discharged her the next day with a plan to continue with an outpatient program, which I guess she found out insurance doesn't cover. She's not doing it because she "can't afford it"...which is all well and good, except she can apparently afford to plan a vacation this summer and can spend literally thousands on concert tickets (for basically the best seats she can find, and for bands she's seen multiple times). So...yeah. I know I'm not a parent, but that's pretty fucked up IMO when (TW) your kid is suicidal, self harming, refusing to eat, drinking and smoking pot at like 14 years old. Some of this stuff is triggering for me so even before I found out she's not doing the outpatient therapy, it was hard to listen to. That development is making me anxious to even hear about it this week.
On that note...I'll leave you with this. He's a very handsome guy when he doesn't look totally derpy, I swear. Hope everyone is getting through the week ok.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...

Yesterday, Ceilidh gave Smurf a hair cut for annoying her one too many times. She is so fast with her baseball sized mitts. She smacked him about 5 times and there was hair flying everywhere. He's kept a respectful distance since then but it won't last long.
I popped online this morning and paid all of my bills. It's a good feeling but depressing too as there is nothing left. Grateful to still have a roof over my head.
I'm dead tired today. Way too much activity with Mom yesterday. I can hardly keep my eyes open. I have one job today and I have to pick up a key from a client. Then, I am coming home and going to bed for the rest of the day.
My partner sees his 3rd ENT to see why he cannot hear on one side. I've seen this ENT myself, He is excellent so I am hopeful that he can help. My partner's appointment is at 2:30 which means he won't be home for hours. It's a drive to the office and he will be in the thick of rush hour traffic on the way back. Bliss for me. I'll be able to sleep without him disturbing me to ask dumb questions or making noise in general.
Hoping that Mom had a decent night and didn't make her caretaker crazy. I'll be in the neighborhood to pick up a key so I may swing by with a milkshake for her. Keeping weight on her is tough so we try to give her treats to help out. At 97 she can have whatever she wants.
I hope that everyone who follows is OK. Shoutout to AngelaJo, Milily, PuppyMom, Blue, JP, LilMissy, Bec, and Leo.
If I get an error, all heck will happen. lol
Miki, great checkin. Glad you came up to bat for Leo. Your cat is absolutely beautiful.
It’s strange how some with depression/anxiety have different ways of trying to cope. This young lady will need to learn much better ways of handling this.
I should talk. In my younger years, 20s, I handled it with TW
Self harm, and thinking I was the worst sinner in the world. Just made me shake inside. I’m glad I have not done self harm for about 20yrs now. I’ve never heard of anyone being so mentally sick going home after 1 day. My shortest stay was about 4 days and my longest was 7 weeks. She is definitely out of control. So sad.
Fan, great that mom is doing well. Wish I could have a shake! I hope that you’re having a good day with some sunshine.
Take care, all who are coming in later.
OMG, is that a flame tip siamese? Very cute! Is he real talkative like most Siamese? Your cats are gorgeous. Karen needs to prioritize her daughter's mental health. Vacations can come later once she is emotionally stable. SMH!
Fantod, glad you got your mom moved. What a job! I hope you find time to relax and rest- moving someone is a big chore, especially if they move for medical pr9blems. I still can't believe after moving my mom I then had to help my brother move as well. I am so ready for a break, so I bet you are, too!
Hi, Bec! What a rough younger years you had and I'm sorry you went through all that. I am glad you are doing much better now. It is a shame that you were so shamed growing up, when in reality, God loves you. None of us are perfect, it is impossible to be. But, God created us with love and each and every one of us is important to Him. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Hugs
I am not over the anesthesia yet and slept in till like 10. That NEVER happens to me. When I got out of bed, I was loopy and the room felt like it was tilting. Hopefully by the time I get on the plane this evening, it will be out of my system.
I feel like going back to bed, but I need to finish packing.
Waves to all. I hope you're having a blessed day!
Bec- I also had issues with self harm in my late teens/early 20s. I was surprised she was discharged so quickly too, but I know there's problems with having enough beds for psych patients so maybe they discharge people as soon as they aren't at risk of harming themselves? Idk. It sounds like you're in less pain from your surgery, as far as I can tell online at least.
Fantod, I'm glad you can get some much needed peace and quiet today. Hugs
I finally got notified that my insurance claim for VanGogh is settled, I guess it took a little longer than usual because we addressed several issues at once, but they are going to cover treatment for arthritis (monthly injections), and testing/treatment for his heart murmur. That was the biggest thing, because echocardiogram is about $600. Covering those two things was basically the best case scenario so it's a huge sigh of relief. They're considering his early kidney disease a pre existing condition, but that's fine and expected (that won't be crazy expensive to manage with the discount I get, especially if other stuff is covered, and right now doesn't even require any treatment).
I’ve been going through a bunch of stuff, appointments, ultrasounds (guess I have cysts on my ovaries now… so I have to go back for another ultrasound) … dealing with some other pain stuff from all my injury stuff ect.
I have to finish the dental stuff from everything & now getting to the back teeth (which is hard because I have to work on getting my jaw to open up more, which is hard scary & triggering) … one of the back molars that’s been cracked really bad for a while & has been hurting really bad I have to go to an oral surgeon next month to get it pulled & the dentist that’s been helping me with everything just put me on antibiotics to take while I wait to get to the oral surgeon. I also have to go back to the jaw doctor that helps me with my jaw from all the trauma to it & figure out a different mouth guard but have to wait till I get this tooth (well actually two of the very back cracked molars) pulled. Geez … sorry I’m really rambling … I’m pretty overwhelmed with everything & have some other stuff going on plus my PTSD is in overdrive. So anyways just really trying my best to get through everything & not give up.
*I keep checking in every day reading everyone’s stuff & rooting for everyone even the days it’s too hard to write
It’s 2am & just took all my meds & drinking a tea in bed with Baby laying next to me
Hope everyone’s resting as I write this
Miki- that kitty in the picture looks so sweet I want to give him a kiss lol
