Weird facts:
people with Ebola get the hiccups. We have no idea why. Hiccups. It's a distinguishing symptom. Hiccups.
Marxism envisions a classless society without sharp divisions between classes based on economic or political status. He disliked the US Constitution as a "middle-class power grab" (you just got 10 weeks of socioeconomic theory in four words, you're welcome). SOCIALism, by contrast, is seen as a transition by marxists ---- on the way to communism as they saw it originally ---- and basically means that all the raw resources as well as the factories and stores belong to workers rather than, say, a billionaire. The CEO is just another orker. COMMUNism, by contrast, advocates that every person be paid not just on their abilities but also on their needs ---- so if you had kids, you have more needs, would get paid more than a single person without kids for identical jobs/skills/etc. In theory.
In reality, isms end badly b/c everyone grabs power and it's over. *sigh* History sucks. But there you go. That previosu paragraph was a whole term of my university education in very few words. Which of itself shows you how crazy life gets, really.
Golf evolved from Scottish stick-and-ball games, but the credit usually goes to a Scotsman named MacDonald. if you're curious, other stick-and-ball games that evolved to modern sports: cricket, baseball, hockey/field hockey/lacrosse, polo.
Jai alai (high a lie is the pronunciation) is originally BASQUE ---- from happy holiday, basically. It's another stick and ball sport somewhere between the flat bat of cricket and the scoop of lacrosse. Its original name was just "basque ball" (vasca pelota, or if you prefer, pelota vasca.)
Fun fact: There's a reason some adjectives in Latin/Romance languages go before or after a noun. Before is emphasis --- "mi vieja amiga" means my "old friend" the way we say it in English. But mi amiga vieja means, rather, "my friend (who is old)" and means her age rather than her relationship to me. This also applies to French and Italian: "A great man" would put the adjectice before the noun, but "a big(size) man" would go after.
And that's about ten hours of convo with a linguist boiled down for you. Honestly, I should write fortune cookies, LOL!

And on that note, I have to crawl back to bed. Hubby brought home a new virus. Since I was already down, it wiped me out. I long for a cure for the common cold. I am so tired of blowing my nose!
Fun trivia: You can get intermittent fever and still have infection. So not having a steady fever means zero. I know tbihs b/c I always have intermittent fevers when I get one at all. I can swing from normal to 101*/39* and back in less than an hour. Docs NEVER believe me if they don't catch me in a fever.
Fun trivia: mix half a tablespoon of oregano or thyme leaves (dried whole, but not powdered!) with mint tea and honey to help kick a virus's butt. Just be aware you'll hate yourself for the taste unless you reallllllly love oregano. I can never stomach it, but it works for hubby.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...
hating my life right now hungry tired angry lonely. spoke to an old friend last night who wanted to reconnect to me. not to be the friend that she said she wanted to be apparently, because i tested the sheyoooot.....after Missouri i am being bery berry careful.
after much back and forth in her 3 hour ramblling meltdown of how good she's doing during a separation (for which she dumped me for because of her new perfect life in North Carolina). I KNEW SHE WOULD get divorced because of how controlling he was. I said nothing. Wished her well. She never called back last i had texted with my health issues a long while ago. So now she's telling me how to run my life wihle her's is a disaster. Late last night I thought, you know, she can give me advice when she's actually been in my life. So f* her and f* that. I'm done after i asked her to visit me should i need back surgery (catching her up on current situation) Her answer, it depends. what support have you attained? WTAF??? Seriously, that's what you say to me? After I explained that my family took all my money, friend took all my money and all other fairweather fake friends only along for the ride when i was wealthy, had things. So over this b'shit. She called me because she wants my connection. I am so tempted to go on Linked In and erase her from my contacts. I have 10 times as many industry connections than her and she wants them to start her new speaking tour called, "F Fear". Taht's pretty abrasive if you ask me. My response was to laugh because in our industry, you stay professional. You do not curse, you uphold an ethical standard. If she's so proud of her Big 5 accounting firm job she had only because she's fg obnoxious and won't even listen, good. Go with God. But do not involve me, because I have enough sh(t to worry about.
F'G PEOPLE!!!
Sorry guys, venting,

I have been anxious about seeing my parents since Sunday ...even though I know I handled the situation pretty well and didn't do anything wrong, in the back of my mind was the possibility that they thought about stuff and decided I was in the wrong. I also didn't know my dad had mohs surgery yesterday and wasn't working today, so he was there when I dropped off Miki. He did apologize for Sunday and admit he was out of line-so mom probably tore him a new one after I left. Tempting as it was to really drive the point home, I just thanked him and moved on. I'll take what I can get. It's late for me, like 430 pm..we had a busy surgery day, then I brought Nox to lion cut him because appointments are pretty sparse this evening. He's running around the office talking to everyone now, and he looks adorable. He hates the process but he does like being rid of all the floof, and the birds can use that hair for their nests. And now that I've slowed down, I could crawl straight into bed. At least I know that when I do, Nox will be under the covers like a little heat seeking missile.
AngelaJo has asked me to update. She has a bad UTI so she may have to stay at the rehab place a bit longer. Today was not a good day for her. She’s upset about potentially having to stay put and she had a set back in PT. Please send support and good thoughts her way.
I have tomorrow “off” during the day . Then, I start with the 19# ball of fury who is sporting a cone. He had a growth that had to removed. He is willingly eating gabapentin in his food which surprises me. I’m not pilling him. Either he eats it or goes back to the vet to board or without it. He was a complete psycho at the vet. They have to sedate him every time. Pretty much meet him the parking lot with sedation. Fortunately, I know the vet and have his cell if I need help after hours.
Miki - I’m glad that your Dad apologized. I hope that his MOHS surgery fixed the problem.
That’s about it for me. Going to enjoy not having to run around first thing tomorrow. Waves!
