Tripped up because I tripped over Nox this morning. He wasn't happy but after a few minutes of pets all sins were forgiven. I'll probably have a bruise on my leg somewhere but otherwise I'm fine. I have a race coming up on Sunday so I'm trying to take things as easy as possible this week but I'm already thinking of a million projects around the house for after. Like painting the trim around the ceiling (I didn't have the energy to get that done while the work was being done on the house, but that I can do with the cats here), painting and hanging the door I just ordered (replacing them one at a time to not screw myself physically or financially), and art. Which is a good distraction from getting home last night and finding out that my dad was in my house. I didn't know he was going up (to get pieces of tree out of my yard and to the dump) but the deadbolt was locked when I got home. I hardly ever lock it. So major anxiety. I hate people in my house when I'm not there. My parents going through my stuff has led to getting screamed at multiple times. No, there's nothing to hide this time, but the anxiety is just as bad. Bf sent me a link for a deadbolt that you have to enter a 4-digit code, and I'm genuinely considering it. Luckily today isn't super busy, no one added extra surgeries, and getting home to walk Miki won't be a problem. Anyway...sorry no trivia or anything today, I'm definitely not as good atthis as Leo (whose surgery is tomorrow, good luck!!), but I hope you all have a great day!

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Sorry to hear about your anxiety. Yeah, pets are great. They don't hold grudges.
I'm struggling on the verge of tears. My depression is so strong, and I feel very alone. I'm just burned out. My husband doesn't get it. He's having some pain in one of his ankles, and it's like the world should end. I know pain isn't a competition, but try feeling that kind of pain all over all the time and see how you do. I feel so trapped by everything.
On the bright side, the weather's supposed to improve, so maybe that will help my pain and my mood. One foot in front of the other....
Wish you all a great day. Tries to post yesterday but DS ate it. First time that happened for me in a long time.
ZK, sending you big hugs! Hopefully you'll get some sun and feel better!
We spent all morning running errands and didn't get back home until after 1. I was so worn out I had to take a nap. I slept for 3 hours! I'm still tired today, so I guess I did more than I should have. I was mostly just riding in the pickup, but that does tire me out after a bit. The boy (our dog, Beans) was so happy! He got to go with us and ride the whole morning. He gave me so many kisses! LOL He's a little worn out today as well.
Hoping everyone has a good day!
ZK, I felt like you yesterday, I cried a lot all day. I hope your day improves. I hate that you feel so trapped and alone. I know I hate that feeling and it's really most days. Sending you chocolate bars to get through your day.
This morning I'm still feeling super anxious. I don't want to work, I don't want to run anymore errands this week, I have at least 2 more, probably 3. I need to call my surgeon today about some questions I have and to see when I can come by for my pictures and to pay the balance. I did my Ajovy once monthly migraine injection last night and it's itching bad again. This is my 4th shot and 2 out of 4 have caused major itching. I hope I don't eventually get to where I can't handle the shot from a major allergic reaction.
I hope everyone has a good day.
I'm on the rebound from this nasty pinched nerve that literally stole my arm/hand for the past 4 days. Eeeiowchie! But I actually slept, even though it was broken sleep...5hrs...we'll call it good enough and I'm so thankful for this improvement for today.
Today I have a few things going on. Catching up on some laundry, working on some games for Easter. I'm trying to pull together a Family Feud style game. And then I have to get some giant plastic eggs to fill with some treats and such for the Crown Chomp game for the kids.
Otherwise I plan to take it easy today. My back is still not a happy camper still.
Miki, thanks for getting us going today. And maybe look into that lock. I'd be looking into cameras. People are not deterred by locks so much as they are cameras and knowing you can see what they are doing.
Speaking of that, we just ordered a nice one for the front of the house. Our neighbors have shared on our neighborhood FB page, that it appears we have someone casing our homes. Our homes were designed so that there are very little windows facing the other homes. Which makes it hard to see if someone is going around your neighbors house. This new cam we ordered, will zoom in up to 30x zoom and 720p resolution. The doorbell cams are not good quality and can be easily dismantled. This one will go above the garage plus it's vandal proof. I also plan to call ADT later about upgrading our system we have. I want more window sensors now that we are talking about adding the deck sooner than later.
Boy, I got sidetracked there. I'm glad Nox forgave you. Pudge is quick to forgive also. I tote her around upside down up the stairs, not her favorite position, but as soon as she lands on the bed, she's all in my face with loves again.
Pets are cool that way!
Zombie, I am so sorry depression is not giving up and digging in harder. I agree, I find it hard at times when they complain about what I would consider a 'nothing' pain. I had a really hard time when I was staying up at the hospital after my Sisters surgery and I was going on 3 nights of hardly any sleep and in a world of pain. So when the nurse asked her what her pain levels were at, she said that they were about a 3/4 and she got more pain meds? I couldn't believe it! But I had to step back and just let it be. She was recovering from surgery and I choose to be happy that they were managing her surgical pain that well.
Its hard to watch others struggle with so much less than we are dealt at times.
I'm sorry that is on your plate as well.
I better get off here. Lots to do at a turtles pace today.
Happy Tuesday to all! Oh and Happy World Autism Day too!
ZK I hope the anxiety and pain let up soon. Depression is a ball buster. I hope you find little things that make you smile today but if you need to cry do it too.
Pained one I hope you are able to rest your body some today to let it catch up from yesterday.
Twins huge hugs for you today. Maybe when you feel so overwhelmed with everything think about the down time you will get after the surgery. I wish we could all be there to help take some of the running and errands off you. I will light a healing candle for you today.
Wonder I have that pinched nerve thing happen quite often and it drives me mad. I hope that it heals quickly and you can get back to your crazy busy life.
Speaking of pinched nerves I have been having severe pain and useless muscles in my upper arms for the past few days. I am used to it but I still hate the pain it causes and not being able to use an arm or hand to get things done. I have had it since my back surgery 8 years ago. I have tried all kinds of exercises. I plan on doing some dusting today and sorting through mail that is piling up.
Waves at all who follow. Hugs and healing thoughts.
And I'm sorry everything is happening so quickly. I too, just shut down almost when I become too anxious. I recently went through a spell of anxiety again, Not that I was mentally anxious about stuff..but apparently my body was anxious, (hiccups, not sleeping, feeling like I couldn't do anything). It's strange but more so it's hard.
Maybe treat yourself to some chocolate chips after each errand? Dangle that carrot to make the errand easier to do?
Autumn, Oh, I am so sorry you have to deal with these pinched nerves also. They are wicked! I'm so much happier that it has reduced down to feeling like I only have 3rd degree burns on my fingertips. At least with that I'll function. Not gracefully, but I can keep going. These past few days being down I've been taking mental notes on what I want to accomplish. I've added scrubbing the walls and vacuuming the baseboards to my list today. (scuff marks and such). I figure the gentle stretching might help. But there I go thinking again. LOL.
I hope your dusting goes well. Not too long ago I ordered some long dusters (we have super high ceilings here) and I love those dusters. And for a treat -on the woodwork - I purchased some seed & wax. And I love how the woodwork comes out after using that stuff.
I better get going again. Slow and steady.
Pain meds for 3 to 4? That's a great day for me!
My dad was in so much pain in his last 5 years, all I can think of is my pain has not been like his I have nothing to complain about.
Hugging you all!
Miki, sorry you tripped and I'm sure kitty will forgive, they always do. Yay for an easy day!
Sorry I can't respond to everyone... I have a very busy day ahead, but I'll try and scroll through a read.
Vent warning:
I need to call 2 lumber companies and get a price quote including their contractors and materials, then call the architects, then go to SSA (separate matter), then meet up w/ hubby at a bank to talk to *lender B* in case THIS one falls through.
The current lender is asking that we put in a letter requesting an extension on Escrow past 60 days. WTHades. So now we're trying to change the loan type... AGAIN to prevent that. This is what happens when a certain someone (ahem... won't mention names, but you know who) keeps changing his mind every 5 mins about which floor plans he wants / don't want. And NOW we risk losing the property (the seller may want to put it back on the market). So NOW we're doing things MY way... and I'm going back to the original lumbar company (that hubby cancelled on me) to get plans and quotes and submit them to the lender. We can always change them later after we've closed!
Hugs to all.
Miki - Thanks for getting us started. I'm sorry that you are upset about your Dad being in your house alone. Given the history, I can understand that. I agree with the others that cameras are a better deterrent. I have a Simpli Safe alarm system that you can add camera's to as well. It is super easy to install yourself and the monthly monitoring fee is extremely low - like $25 a month or you can chose a less expensive plan. The sensors can be installed so pets are less likely to trip them too. It has the added benefit of giving you a small break on home insurance too. I've had very good experience with them; super easy to work with and very helpful.
Zombie - I wish you were not feeling so low today. My partner sometimes starts in about some pain he has in his back or something else. Like its a contest or something to see who can be the most miserable. That sure gets on my last nerve. You are correct in saying that they should have to endure what we do 24/7 365 days a year... I hope that something gives you a small measure of happiness today.
PainedOne - It sounds like you had a busy day yesterday. I like being taken out to go on errands. I get to relax, talk to my taller half and enjoy the scenery. I'm glad that you got a nap in after all of that activity. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Twin - I'd be anxious too. You have too much going on and not a lot of support to manage it all. But, you always seem to power through it like a warrior. Give yourself credit for trying and being there for your kids. You can and will do this. Happy Autism World Day! Sending you lots of support and a dump truck full of Hershey kisses!
Wonder - Pinched nerves anywhere are horrible. I'm glad that you finally got some sleep last night. I'm kind of in spring cleaning mode too. Its hard when you can't bend, lift, reach etc. I'm trying to just chip away at it a little at a time here and there. I'm fortunate that there are other people in the neighborhood at home around me during the day. We all kind of keep an eye on things. It is just too darn bad that other people have no respect and go around breaking into homes etc. Happy Autism World Day! I hope that you manage to get through your list today without making anything worse. Hugs!
Hi Autumn - That sounds just horrible! I hope that you can get through the mail that is piling up and get your dusting done. Hang in there!
Hi Mrs. Otto (Karan)!
Blue - I am sorry that you are dealing with this nonsense. I'm not quite sure that Mr. Blue actually wants to do any of this based on his behavior. These stalling tactics are IMHO more of his usual shenanigans when he doesn't want to commit to something. I really hope that this somehow works out for you. It sounds like a very busy day. Hugs!
Time to work on some more chores, shower and run a couple of quick errands. After that, perhaps some more genealogy tweaking. Shout out to AngelaJo who was very brave yesterday and got her appointment done and over with. Also, Leo, Maynard, Bear, and Milily. I will check back later!
Fantod I hope that what you have to do today isn't too much for you after yesterday. I am sending you strength by chocolate.
Twins one thing at a time. It will all get taken care of I promise. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. I know that this will be exhausting on a whole new level but once it is done and you have the surgery you will get the chance to rest. Take advantage of that time and let others take care of the house and the cooking. The kids will try to be helpful too. Hugs and a whole chocolate cake no flour. I am praying for you.
Wonder, I"m really glad you are on the rebound. I hope it keeps getting better and better. Your plans for Easter sound amazing. How do you have so much energy! :-P Haha, I know you don't, you are just an amazing warrior that powers through and loves making everyone around you happy. I love that about you.
Blue, I'm glad you're on top of it because if Hubby was doing this alone they would pull the property from him. Good luck dealing with all of it. You are always so good about getting stuff done.
Autumn, thank you for lighting a candle for me. That truly makes me want to cry tears of joy for your caring heart. And I can't believe you have so many problems with your arm or hand from your back surgery. That would be incredibly annoying. I'm so sorry. Saying prayers for your pain and strength.
Twins, yup, I'm a Marine, we're mission oriented, so it's what I do!
I spoke to the loan officer and he said he's so glad I called LOL. He said talking to my husband was giving him a headache (yeah, try being married to him!). I called several lumber companies and now I'm off to SSA and then *lumber company A* to see how can we expedite building plans. Love and hugs to all.
I am exhausted today, nightmares all night probably from the appt yesterday so just so drained, took a nap 930 till 1030 then was SUPPOSE to be picked up at 1130 at 1140 i called the peer support and shes sick so not picking me up and no one told me. Angela, they should have told you she was sick. I'm glad your mom could help out. It sounds like you have another busy day tomorrow. I hope it goes better than today.
