Good morning! I've been up since 4 AM! Dixie won't stop ywoling as if she's in hell, but she's in fact in a 1800sf house, which is a pretty good step up from a damn shelter cage, but hey, what do I know? She wants to go, and I can't sleep through the yow-ow-owls, so... Here I am. Comatose and hating it.
So I decided today's motto is "TOO TIRED FOR THIS". And walk away. (Or limp!) Say it with a snooty accent, French or British. "I am too tired for this, I will leave now..."

Today, Queen Marie Antoinette, wife of Louis XVI of France, literally lost her head. The guillotine claimed another victim during yet another iteration of the French Revolution, this one in 1793. She was convicte dof treason. This isn't uncommon with queens (ask Anne Boleyn!) but usually it's for adultery or inconveniencing the *king*. Not typicaly crimes against the people of the nation.
In 1941, the German-Romanian occupying forces took Odessa (USSR) and began killing its Jewish population. Due to rural Jews relocating to Odessa, ultimately the population of Jews killed (starting October 16 and ending over a week later) was much larger than prior to the war. By October 23, 1941, it's believed up to 15,000 Jews ("hostages") had been killed. After the war, mass graves showed about 22K bodies. Ultimately, it's unknown how many were killed in the Odessa massacre, as it's known, but by the end of 1942, Odessa was virtually emptied of Jewish population, and the deaths were gruesome. Some died when herded to barracks, wherein holes were made in walls for machine guns to shoot the people crammed inside, and the floor was soaked with gasoline, and the building set afire. Yep. Then tere were the ones evicted to suffer the winter weather of 1941-42 (freezing to death), and others were shot to death en masse, and so forth and so on. Ukraine's Holocaust did not have the "elegance" of Auschwitz (to use Nazi leader Adolf Eichmann's own term for the efficiency he helped create)...
Oddly, one of the chief perpetrators was a general-politician named Ion Antonescu (John Anthony in English), who preferred to rob the Jews than to kill them, or at least rob them first and foremost. He also spared the lives of many Jews living in southern Romania, and like others in the Romanian regime of WOrld War 2, he balked at the "Final Solution" of concentration camps. Nonetheless, his part in the Holocaust led to his execution after WW2, and has since become a quasi-hero of Romanian nationalism and anti-Sovietism and white supremacy.

Hiya My internet is changing today and I'm not sure how long the switch over will take, I'm hoping 24 hours at the most, but I'm probably being too optimistic We are changing to another company and going full fibre for the internet. But at least it's changing to the one payment rather than the payment for the home landline phone and a payment for the internet. So I'm not going to be on here...

I am too tired for this @)$(* too. My dad was very big on studying wars, especially WW 2, so we had a lot of books around the house about the war and the holocaust, It's a sad example of what humans are capable of.
Things are about the same up in the frozen tundra except that we are getting occasional sunshine now. I've been starting to winterize stuff around the house which includes a lot of fairly heavy lifting/moving which causes a lot of pain. It'll get better. Other than that, Spartacus is sparking and Elsa is Elsa. I do have two appointments coming up...one today with the sleep doc to finally go over the results of my test. The other is with the mole doc to make sure that I don't have anymore suspicious growths. She wanted to remove a big one about 6 months ago but I said WAIT!, that's my head! :-)
Hope you all have a good one,
Kel
I slept from 12 am to 5 am. Getting in the shower soon and then going to the secretary of state and then to get fasting blood labs done and then breakfast and eventually a nap. I hate fasting , I am hungry. Maybe I will treat myself and go to a restaurant for breakfast after the blood draw : )
Hopefully the kitty will let you nap.
Hi to everyone that follows and I hope you all have a decent day.
I'm so stressed out. Miki did ok alone yesterday but she was a holy terror last night and this morning. Trying to chase the cats, etc. I walked her as soon as I got home. I'm hoping some of that is stress from the huge change in her routine, vs not getting her energy out all day. I ordered her a thunder shirt yesterday which I should get by the end of the week and I'm hoping that will help. I'm going to start working on obedience at night in addition to walking her, since it's already basically dark when I get home. Other than that, I just don't know. It's such a shitty situation and I feel so hopeless about it. Today may be a little better because I'm in the NH office and I can hopefully get home during lunch to walk her, but starting tonight I have to medicate my mom's friend's cat so I'm getting home later so idk
Sorry the cats are keeping you up with the howling. The only time we had a cat do that was Izzy girl when she would go into her heat cycle....and then it was a puny one at that as she has a tiny voice. Most soft spoken cat I've ever met. But all of that is gone now that she's been spayed.
Hope your day is filled chocolate and cat naps as you manage your way through it.
Kel, WWI & WWII are big conversations here in our family as well. My little nephew loves all things World War ever since he was a little guy. He's 11 now and knows more about the wars than most professors. LOL.
Hope the winterizing stuff goes well up there for you and you can pace out the rest of the fall season. We're starting ours here also.
Milily, did I read that right? Your going to the secretary of state?
I hope the vampires in white are kind to your arms and you do get to have a nice breakfast after you are done there.
Miki, speaking of Feliway, did you know that Thundershirt makes a dog pheromone plug in also? (ThunderCalm or Adaptil) Same concept, it spreads the pheromones of what the puppies smell when they are drinking their mothers milk. Super calming...Or we have given Tank some calming treats too. Ironically the same ones that are used for cats. We had them on hand when we were moving, just in case.
Either way, I hope Miki settles into her new schedule soon. Most dogs do. But that excited to see you thing is one of the greatest reasons we have a dog. They are the happiest creatures to see you again when you get back home.
Sorry I've been MIA lately, things are really getting busy around here. My MIL moves on Nov 1st and we're heading out to Eau Claire this Saturday. Today I have the glass company coming out to replace the windshield in the truck, and then it goes in for it's undercoat/sealant later today. Tonight I have my Sis and Niece coming over for haircuts. Wed should be calm. I think, I hope I didn't forget anything. Thurs I might be doing some Senior photos for a friends daughter. Friday I have a big meeting for the boys MA stuff down at the county gov center. And Sunday, I'm doing a brazillan blow out for my aunt.
So if I'm missing, know I'm thinking of you guys. I'm also trying to teach the boys about the need to study. They ace their daily lessons. But when the tests come around they are often not recalling the materials. So I got to teach them how to study, in an adaptive way.
Anyways, I need to get rolling here. I'll try to scoot back on if I can later. Hugs to all who follow!
kel, I hope you find out some good information from your sleep study. And a little scar is worth saving your life over, if the mole still looks suspicious please let her remove it. I hope it all goes good and that your pain gets better from the extra work.
milily, I'm curious to see if you really meant the secretary of the state. I hope between everything you have to do today that you are able to rest and that your pain doesn't increase from it all.
Miki, our dogs are super hyper all evening from being cooped up all day. I think that's normal because they go running through the house at super speed all evening and then they like to play hide-in-go-seek around our recliner. :-) Miki will get use to it. Hang in there.
Wonder, you have a lot going on this week and this weekend. I pray it all goes great and that you don't get overwhelmed.
My Jeep is still waiting to be fixed. I spoke to the mechanic and they haven't even started on it. That really ticks me off, he didn't say anything about not being able to get to it until 3 days after having my Jeep. I don't like driving my mom's van, the peddles and steering wheel are super sensitive, one minor movement and you're either breaking or speeding up too fast, and one slight move of your hand and your in the next lane.
I'm still taking Linzess for my stomach. It helps some, and when I doubled the med I just got a lot of gas and stomach upset for 3 days so I went back down to 1 pill today. It seems more settled down but I'm not going enough. I'm waiting on a referral to another GI doctor.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Wonder - you are a busy bee. What is a Brazillan blow out.
Miki - your dog probably just needs time to adjust. We had 2 male dogs when I was still working years ago and had to shut them in a basement room together , otherwise they would be naughty. My ex and I were both working long night shifts (before we had a child). Those dogs were always crazy fools when I got home - glad to be not confined , and they new they were going to get fed and walked - they were just freaking happy.
Twin - I am glad the Linzess is helping some and that you are going to see a different GI Dr.
Angela - PUPPIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you have a long day again. Endometriosis blows, I had 2 surgeries to get rid of it all , I was littered with it and adhesions and my bladder and uterus were both pinned down.
Hi to Blue, Ida, Autumn, Fantod
Just wanted to check in.
Hope that everyone have a great day!
Will check back later. Pam
My mood is seriously in the crapper today. The fighting continues and I got cussed out last night, was told to eff off. I started looking for a motel or B & B to check into for a couple of days. My husband's response was, "Fine, do whatever you like. But if you're going to treat yourself to a vacay, then so will I and I'll go to Oahu for a nice surfing trip (with some buddies). I have a 3 day weekend coming up soon."
He then proceeded to mock me and suggested I go rent my own apartment while I'm at it so I'll always have a place to run away to since <being offended> happens so often. He also criticized me about a bunch of things I won't explain here. OK so NOW I'm not thinking about booking motels anymore but an appointment with a divorce lawyer!!
I woke up with a headache after last night and everything he said just made me feel so much worse.
I don't want to divorce.... we have such awesome goals we dream about together. But I can't stand being treated this way. This was supposed to be a laid back, fun week where I get to go to the beach, make jam, and relax. But it's turned into a week of hell.
Leo, I hope the kitties cool it... or figure out where to play and be happy.
Blue... I vote lawyer. Shared dreams are n ice, but *respect* is essential. Being able to live together with respect and courtesy in everyday situations is essential. Mocking and so forth are *not* okay.
Kel, hoping that you feel better and that you get some good results from your sleep doctor. I would have said to wait as well!
Milly, I hope that all of your blood work comes back normal. That sounds nice
you need to treat yourself today. Enjoy your day!
Miki, try not to stress yourself out. Don't forget self care, You have to take care of you as well.
Wonder, it sounds like you have a lot going on. Try and get you some rest too. Enjoy your day!
Twin, praying that you can get your vehicle fixed soon. I am glad that the medication is working for your stomach. Hoping that you continue to get relief.
Angela, hoping that you can get you some rest.
Milily, hoping that you feel better.
Blue, praying for you.
Pam
Pam, thank you. I hope your pain lowers and you enjoy something today.
Milily, I'm glad everything went good. I hope you have a good evening.
Angela, I hope everything went good today and those puppies have arrived. :-)
