Happy Independence Day to Peru! Which declared its independence from Spain today in 1821. VIVA PERU!
Sadly, today also marks the annviersary of the USA passing what is now somehow controversial, the 14th Amendment, in which we are guaranteed not only birthright citizenship but also DUE PROCESS OF LAW. Yeah, overturn the 14th, a lot else happens ---- without a recitation of your rights, or a courtroom ever being involved. The old word for this was "lynching".
In 1914, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, which managed to kick off World War One due to treaties, alliances, land grabs, colonialism, and much else. This war wound down with the Spanish flu pandemic. Downton Abbey it weren't.
And it must be a good day to be a pticher because in both 1991 and 1994, major league baseball players in the US pitched perfect games on this daate. Seriously. Exactly to the day. Memo to pitchers: Your lucky day!

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
So, I will find out shortly if my car is fixed or not. He finally got the high pressure hose on and the bolt that he couldn't seat done. The return hose is an open question. It may be leaking too. We have a replacement but he claims that he can't figure out on to take it off. I called bullspit on that. Probably just part of yesterday's temper tantrum. I looked it up and it isn't remotely as difficult as the high pressure hose.
We were supposed to get rain last night. The radar was crazy but we didn't get a drop. The trees are really stressed and starting to turn and drop leaves. The next week is going to be in the 80s but that doesn't mitigate the need for rain. This is not good.
I got not so good news yesterday from pain management. We were finally able to look at my 2 MRIs from December 2025. I've had a compression fracture at T12. Origin unknown. Bad enough that I was a candidate for using cement to fix it. Too late now. Also, mid back stenosis which is "rare and unusual." Two more things that have to be watched. Anytime I fall, I'll have to be checked. MY D level is fine and so is my bone density. Just shoot me....
That's about it for me. Send up good vibes that I am back in my car today! Waves!
I'm exhausted, just woke up feeling off. My period is starting so I guess I'll blame that. I got a letter yesterday from the referral hospital where VanGoghs cardiologist is, they made a financial contribution in his name to the corporations sister company, which is a nonprofit that supports research for new treatments and diagnostics for animals. I'm surprised, again, at their generosity. And as a vet tech, and a mom of multiple medically complex animals, I can't think of something more perfect to honor him. Meanwhile, Haco's creatinine is a little elevated but his other kidney values are fine. Asking the doctor about it, but the lab says it can be artifact from being "heavily muscled", which he is. He's got a thick coat and you can see his muscle definition when he walks..but I'll probably get a urine sample while he's asleep for his dental.
We're supposed to get storms this afternoon, and then rain all day tomorrow and into Thursday. We could use some rain but we don't need that much.
Haco sound built, Miki! :-) I'm so glad VanGogh got his honors!
Praying for storms but it's all going north or south of us. *gasp*I
