Morning everyone, Leo is hopefully enjoying the break from people and the world in general right now so I figured I'd get us started today. We've got several days of gross, humid weather this week..it's like living in a jungle. A jungle that has New England fall leaves, if such a thing exists. There's definitely a bunch of little panthers running around the house...
Let's talk vacations. Where would you go if money, health and time weren't a factor? My 2 places I'm dying to visit are Australia/New Zealand and the Amazon rainforest. I'd love to be out in nature among all the wildlife (safely, of course, I'm not going to walk up to a leopard or kangaroo and try to pet it-I mean to observe in the environment but from a safe distance). A beach or tropical island actually doesn't appeal to me as much. I'm a terrible swimmer and I don't want to spend an entire vacation lying on a crowded beach-I don't even love going to the beaches here. But that's just me, I know several people who absolutely love the beach.
Anyway...today is probably gonna feel long. We have a pretty busy work schedule and I haven't been sleeping well because of PMS. The rain and humidity coupled with my period starting is just miserable. Tomorrow I do get to sleep in a little because I'm going to my great aunt's funeral in the morning. I may have to work for the afternoon but only if it seems busy, I'll touch base with my manager later today and figure it out. The whole day off would be nice, but just the afternoon won't be too horrible. But I need to go feed these critters because they're all sitting here staring at me, and get ready for work. Here's an adorable photo to get us through the day. Hugs and wiggles from Miki and the rest of my crew!

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

I've been reading but not posting for a couple of weeks. I've been horribly depressed. I was scheduled for my surgery and had to take a covid test. The test came back positive. So, I didn't get my surgery and had to clear out two weeks of appointments and reschedule them. The last week and a half has been quiet, but October is going to be crazy busy.
Hoping everyone has a good day!
PainedOne i hope you feel better with your depression!
Pain is really high today BUT my PCP stopped all statins on me yesterday they make my legs hurt too bad now to give it time to get out of my system. In a week after motrin been lowered for awhile i will start fish oil again at a lower dose. At least no more statins! We had to up my insulin a little bit more but we are slowly getting me better readings. I am drained feeling i slept from 11 till 230 then up till almost 5 and up at 6 7 and 8 i stayed up
Love that picture!
I'm doing better today. I found some CBD oil that I had forgotten was in my med box. Took a healthy dose of that yesterday and am doing the same today. So far, so good. Thanks for the support AngelaJo.
I cleaned out another cupboard yesterday in the kitchen.
If I had money, and health, I'd love to do a big trip. Start in Scotland to see where my paternal grandparents lived, move along to England and see where my maternal relatives lived and then onto New Zealand where I have a distant cousin that I found through genealogy. I'm hoping to somehow get to Scotland if nowhere else.
PainedOne - I am so sorry that your surgery was delayed due to COVID. That @*%$#@ stuff is just everywhere. And, it is doubly hard when you had your mind set and everything lined up to get that surgery over and done with. Everything is going to work out. Sending you support and a hug.
AngelaJo - I am so glad that you will not be taking statins anymore. One less thing to make your pain levels miserable. Hopefully, with no/less headaches and lower pain levels you will start to get better sleep too.
Off to get breakfast and meds. Shoutout to Twin, Wonder, Milily, Ida and Zombie. I will check back later.
