Waiting for my peer support to get here. I am so stressed and mom makes me more stressed because shes stressed and i get her stress. I am in SO much pain with my hips and back i was up half the night and up since 3 am. I will try to check in later!
I posted early this morning about my coworker going above and beyond her usual level of entitlement…won’t write all that out again but the TL;DR is that she tried to lie to me yesterday because she wanted to leave early on the day I took off. Said she found out last week she got a cancellation for a dr appointment that day and “forgot” to ask about it, but on Tuesday she told 2 people it was her week to leave early (it’s not) and that she made a hair appointment. No mention of the doctor appointment she knew about for a week, so clearly the doctors appointment was a way to try to get me to give in. I put in the schedule that I was off and someone else was working on Monday (for 2 weeks from now) when she said she could work for me to make sure it was known before she got any ideas, because the doctor is only there in the morning that day and I knew she wouldn’t want to work all afternoon. I chose that day because I could actually find someone to work, much easier for half a day than a full day. But when I found out what she told the other people last night? I almost saw red. I don’t get mad easily at all but she’s managed it. I just want to unload on her but the fear of the ensuing argument is too great for that, sooo idk. I’m not going to bring it up and stir up drama, but I’m sure as hell not gonna act like this was okay if she mentions it. For context, this is the first day in 2 years I’m taking off where I’m not sick. In the past year alone I’ve switched my schedule around for her a few times, usually in ways that are less convenient, because I try to be a nice person. But I can tell you, the next Thursday she wants me to work, I very well might have a doctors appointment that I can’t reschedule (depending on why she wants the day probably…I won’t bitch if it’s not a haircut or whatever, but if it’s petty then she will *not* like my answer).
I’m working on burning right now, finishing up a burnt October piece that I need to post soon. Then I need to get a haircut (a non emergency one on my day off) and hopefully start ornaments. The first one I can actually post for burnt October if I finish it in time. Trying to focus on that instead of how many times she might have lied to get out of being bored…
Well, I have been sick since Monday. IBS-D, nausea, sore throat, headache, low grade fever, and just plain feeling super sick and weak. Yesterday, I started to feel woozy, so I drove myself to urgent care. From my vitals, they could tell I was very dehydrated. My heart was racing like crazy. The doctor almost gave me an IV, but told me to drink a ton of Gatorade instead. I had a Covid test, and the doctor actually called me back personally to say it was negative. I would have had some sort of IV infusion had it been positive. So I have some nausea meds and lots of Gatorade that my friend left on my door step. I wasn’t tested for the flu, but I’m quite sure I have it. I feel about as crappy as one can when having something like this. Sorry to go on and on. But I just needed to talk about it.
Take care
Miki, the crappy co-worker needs a good talking to from the manager. I don’t understand her getting by with all of this nonsense. I would hold my ground with her from here on in. She will learn to get over it or leave. You take care of yourself.
My sister is not speaking to me which is fine. I know that she is exhausted trying to look after Mom, run her business and look after her family. I can't help that I am chronically ill and am currently dealing with the foot from hell and now a bad iron deficiency. I will just continue to do what I can, when I can and that will have to be good enough. I can't get myself all bent out of shape because it is not helpful or healthy for me. Short of completely collapsing and being hospitalized, I don't know what it is going to take for her to "get it."
My partner is really enjoying work and it is nice to see after years of not being appreciated. Yesterday he held a class in the kitchen on how to cook corned beef. Everyone thought that they knew how until he did it his way and shared the results. Big difference. His supervisor has pretty much thrown out the menu that the inhouse nutritionist provides because she uses the same proteins too often in a week. I would not want turkey three times in a week. Sometimes two days in a row. They have a very generous budget for food so there is no reason for that. Anyway, he comes home tired but relaxed. Last night he got his benefits package sorted out. They start 11/1 so he is excited about that.
I have an iris in full bloom in my garden. And, some other flowers are blooming or trying to. I don't know if the other iris blooms will open because we have a cold snap coming but it is gorgeous. And, you can see the pop of colour from the street which is what I wanted. I would like to change the front garden around in the spring. The holly is going so I have more room for flowers.
I just got our HVAC fixed. My partner who doesn't like it when I dictate who is going to do a repair was blaming a loud whistling noise on the furnace. This goes back to when I had to replace the central air and he was unhappy that I decided which contractor got the job. They had to take part of the furnace apart during that process. So, when this noise started, it was all their fault. Well, it wasn't. The noise was coming from the humidifier which had a bad orifice where the water coming into the unit. They didn't touch that. Now he is ticked off because he was wrong (again) lol.
AngelaJo - You need to figure out how to set some limits with your mother. Especially when it comes to the emotional stuff. Her issues are not yours to carry around every day on top of your own. I know that you are close but it isn't healthy for you to take on her stuff on top of your own. I hope that peer support goes well and that you feel a bit better as the day goes on.
Miki - Enjoy your nonemergency haircut lol. That woman is a piece of work and then some. I hope that you can find something to continue to distract yourself all day. You don't need any more stress.
Shoutout to Ida, Milily, Zombie, PuppyMom, Twin, Autumn, Wonder and Blue.
I guess I am just going to call that one guy I know from https://www.hvacschools411.com/ to help me deal with that. Hopefully, he would just tell me what to do, and I would do everything myself without having to call a specialist and spend more money on that. There have been so many unexpected problems lately, so I don’t have lots of money left for life. Doing all yourself is one of the ways to save money and event time.
