Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

So here's my night:
Hubby: *much profanities*
Me: You smell something burning?
Hubby: Someone's grilling.
Me: No, this is burning. Like burning.
Hubby: .... whatever ....
Me: Babe, something is burning, I'm gonna check the stove.
Hubby: (expletives deleted) left that on the stove!
Yep. I liked that pot. Of course, the fact someone (Hubby) left it on a hot burner means the handle melted.
The good news is, my nos eis clearing up! I could smell burning! The good news is, I have a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher in my kitchen just in case of these sorts of moments. The bad news is, I can't believe that he didn't check the fricking stove because *we have a neon orange sign saying IS THE STOVE STILL ON? where nobody using the stove can miss it*....
I really loved that pot. We've had it 30 years. *sigh*
Therapy today: ANGER MANAGEMENT. I was unable to see my aunt buried, I'm in extra pain b/c I'm doing the trash and dishes (and those are not great for fibro), I'm literally helping my not-very-lightweight hubby get up and move and such, ... I'm worrie dsick about my friends aand family....
So naturally, I'm gonna be PO'd, because it's that or cry until I pass out. Which, admittedly, would stop my anger.
So today, I'm gonna MANAGE the ANGeR. Where can I put that energy? What can I do that won't hurt *me*? This rules out all self-harm, be it so small as grinding my teeth... I'm already exhausted...
Cute videos on Youtube it is!

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

... observed a solar eclipse.

I’m exhausted and a little frustrated today, I didn’t set my alarm for today and woke up almost 2 hours later than usual. Been rushing around all morning because I wanted to get stuff done this morning-it’s going to be 83 later and I was hoping to get a nap in fairly early, but I have to go check on bfs cat and I know I won’t wake up this afternoon and want to go somewhere. So I’m going to walk Miki, and then head out to bfs apartment and maybe run an errand, then I’ll come back here and hopefully pass out.
Leo, that really sucks that your favorite pot is ruined. Does the manufacturer still make them? Maybe it can be replaced. My new husband accidentally cracked a glass pot of mine (one of only 2 pots i brought from Hawaii) and i was sad to find out that the brand stopped making them years ago. Luckily he found one on eBay and was able to replace it. I feel like ebay saves people when someone needs to replace one of their broken "antiques". My ex broke many of my favorite kitchen items over the years. Some were replaceable, other weren't. One of the irreplaceable items was a Marine Corps cocktail glass i got while at a Marine Corps ball. It had the unit, their emblem, and date of the ball imprinted on the glass. I hope your hubs at least apologized-- mine never did.
My bad news this week:
I got the results of my vascular study- that was done about a month ago- at my podiatry follow up on Tuesday... and it showed that blood flow down to my ankles is normal, but reduced blood flow in my feet. And even worse in my toes, with only 66% flow on my R foot and 40% flow on my L foot. He said this could explain the persistent foot pain (besides the Ehlers Danlos) despite trying multiple shoe inserts. He is requesting that the VA send me to a vascular specialist for further evaluation.
My husband looked up on Google a few causes and Reynauds came up as one of the causes as well as fibromyalgia. I've never been officially diagnosed with Reynauds but I've always suspected.
In good news:
My husband and I put an offer on a house and an hour later it was signed and accepted by the seller! An inspector is scheduled to come out tomorrow for any damages or required repairs. The seller already renovated the home prior to listing it so we have a good feeling the report will come back good. We are so excited to get out of this tiny apartment soon and into a house of our own. :)
Sorry for the long report today. Miki, sorry you slept in. But I'm glad you got the extra rest, you're always running on fumes.
Blessings to all and have a great rest of the day.
I agree on Reynauds. I have it b/c of repeated mild frostbite in my feet as a kid ----- I just don't have vascular flow, haven't had it in 40-plus years. One reason the South is more comfy for me.
Miki, so glad you got sleep even if it did throw off the schedule. You need a week in bed just chilling!
My partner who am I beginning to think is certifiable wants to open the pool now. We may get snow next week!! Of course, I said no and yet the solar heaters are sitting out next to the pool. He has the tarp off of the pool. I had to throw some algaecide in it today because he put about 2 inches of water in the bottom to stablize it. I explained to him that we need salt, some conditioner and other things first. That all takes money. Pretty sure homicide is on the menu...
My partner actually melted a brand new pan to the top of a glass top cook stove. He fell asleep - this was back when he was still drinking decades ago. Destroyed the stove and the pan. Blue makes a very good suggestion to look on Ebay because you may find a brand new one.
Miki - I hope you are napping right now. I need one but it will have to wait.
Blue - Thrilled for you and Jack about the house! I hope that the inspection goes OK. Raynauds sounds possible. My Dad had it in both hands. Only a couple of fingers were affected on each of them. It's not fun when it flairs.
Here's a cautionary tale for all of you. Another GF barely drove her car for a couple of years during COVID. Yesterday the car (Chevy Cruz) died and she was stranded. The dealer is telling her that because she let it sit so long that the coolant got gummy and destroyed a bunch of stuff to the tune of $2500.
I will check back in a bit. Waves at everyone!
I’m kinda here, high pain day because/plus PMDD
also PMDD & PTSD got me feeling kinda crazy, angry & savage :(
Lilmissy, dang... ! Take it easy. I hope you feel better soon. Hugs
