Didn't make it on here til late yesterday but I saw that Leo's laptop is out of commission...I'm assuming that's still the case.
Yesterday went to hell in a handbasket pretty quickly. We had a couple fractious cats back to back, and both needed stuff like bloodwork/urine/blood pressure. We were already behind as usual so Karen and I tried to get the BP out of the way, but we had issues with the doppler. The doctor ended up coming out with the other cat so I went to try to help her, figuring we'd give the other cat a break. The urine cat had already had enough of being messed with and went from a little grumpy to losing his shit almost immediately. I was trying to hold him and telling the Dr or Karen to get his carrier so I could throw him in there (this is a giant Maine coon btw). I got him in but he always turns around and strikes when you go to close the door...last time I just waited until he lost interest because he ends up getting his claws stuck in a towel or the door, but doesn't actually come back out. Didn't have time to say that in the chaos and someone tried putting a towel over the door as I was pulling my hand out, and he saw the towel coming at him and got his claw stuck in my arm. Then he bit me because I couldn't pull away (and knew better than to try to put my other hand in there). The Dr threw a towel over his head and I unhooked his claw when he bit the towel. His mouth fit like halfway around my forearm so I basically got mauled and had to deal with that for a few minutes despite the million other things I had to do, and we got even more behind -_-. The doctor wanted me to go to urgent care after appointments but I had to go to the NH office with barely enough time to make it under ideal conditions...so I took a couple amoxicillin capsules and promised I'd go at some point(every time I get bit, no matter how well I scrub it and care for it, I get cellulitis. My coworkers know this too). My phone blew up all afternoon as pretty much everyone I didn't actually see told me to go to fucking urgent care. Last night I was just ready to pass out so I took more amoxi and went this morning..it's sore and infected, but not to the point where I have a line going up my arm, which is an improvement over last time. And since I didn't go at 5:30 pm, I was in and out in 40 minutes and I just got home. I think I was at the grocery store/pharmacy almost as long. And now I'm so beyond exhausted, physically and emotionally, and I need to relax for a bit and take a nap with my kitties.
Since we're all dealing with some heavy stuff, and I'm at the point where if I don't laugh at myself I'll cry, I'll leave you with this. I walked out of my bedroom Monday and this is what I saw. It's a good thing he's so damn cute, because he is *trouble*.
At least he didn't eat it.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

I am so sorry that you got mauled! I hope that your bite and scratch doesn't get any worse. And, maybe that you get to Urgent Care. I love Haco and his project. I needed that.
Only slightly less jittery today. I got my house payment handled and my health care stuff. That's the bulk so I feel slightly relieved at least for another month more or less. My supplemental plan with Medicare keeps going up and that's a problem. Everything is a problem - I could scream but it won't help.
Meanwhile, my BIL is not doing well. His meds have been changed again. He's confused, sleeping continually and generally not functioning well.
My brother/germaphobe survived the first night in his hotel room. I'm sure he santized the heck out of it. The ionizer ran all night in his basement with the air scrubber. He feels that it is helping. He has to move the equipment around every 8 hours. So, *maybe* the smell problem is being mitigated.
I have to find new shoes for my Mom today. Her feet are swollen and she is having trouble with her Skechers. She wears a wide as it is so we are going up half a size. My sister is not understanding that Skechers changes their styles all of the time. I will not be able to find the same thing. I found something in black that I think will work but nothing in navy with a black sole so far.
Going to be 102 here today with high humidity. Not happy about that at all. I had a bad time yesterday between horrible anxiety and then ramped up pain from the weather changes.
Sorry this whole thing is a litany of problems. I'm overwhelmed and barely holding on. Shoutout to Blue, AngelaJo, Leo, Bec, LilMissy, Milily, PuppyMom and JP.
In a crap mood still. The excavators had to dig an extra 10 feet and billed me separately for it, which is $4k on top of the $18k already due. So I sent the second bill to insurance but they denied coverage. They covered only $5k out of the 18 and won't cover any more. I argued that the robbery also left us in the hole for additional $11k in damages and stolen property, and insurance will only cover 2 or 3k of it, so I'm being hit from all directions right now. They said "sorry for your losses" but there is nothing else they can do. Thanks for the help!
My mom is in the hospital right now for a heart blockage. They may put a stint in, we'll know more later today. I will have to pick her up upon discharge.
The good news is, we finally got a couple days of rain and the triple digit heat wave also broke for those days. So, that was nice.
Sending peace and healing vibes to all. Tomorrow is Friday! Hugs.
Anyway have to get the place cleaned up. I have been reading so sorry to hear about everyone's tough week.
I am so dang stressed out. My neurologist who i have been seeing for 23 1/2 years, is retiring. I got a letter a couple weeks ago she was leaving after October 27th. Just found out shes leaving next week and is no longer seeing ANY patients or filling any meds and the other neurologist is now leaving as well, that about 850 patients without a neurologist now and im not exaggerating the numbers :(. I called and left a message for my Pain management Dr, called my PCP (she MIGHT be able to do just one month of my pain meds shes checking into it and is doing my emgality if the ins will let her some insurances refuse to pay it unless a neurologist orders it) I am just shaking with anxiety from stress i did call my shrinks office the nurse is going to talk to him. I cant deal with this, 850 people in a community as small as ours and we are suppose to wean OURSELVES off the meds????????? The nurse at all 3 drs offices i called are in shock
Also heard back from my Pain ManagementPA she will NOT prescribe Narcotic pain meds to anyone with ANY type of addiction in their past no matter how long sober (10 1/2 years for me would have been 16 years if i had not drank for 3 days when my husband died, THREE DAYS and she holds it againt me) My mom told me i should not have told her, and i told my mom I am not going to get anywhere lying to a Dr and she would eventually find out somehow anyways. My PCP and shrink wrote letters to Her about how honest i am how i have NEVER abused meds, How far I have come and how strong of a sobriety i have. Nope she will not help me. My PCP is trying to get me into a neurologist in Marquette that she is also checking if he will fill my script. I would be in a wheel chair without my pain meds, my pain is that bad. I can not even get out of bed without taking it at this point. If they just look at my MRIs there is no way to deny i need it! I have THREE Drs telling her etc that i NEED to stay on my meds. I am just so dang overwhelmed. Mom found out her shrink will fill 2 of her meds (adhd and sleep meds) and hoping when she gets in with neurologist she can get her meds too for pain. My Dr is checking if she can fill my pain meds at least one month but is finding out if she can until i see neurology. remember its about 850 patients suddenly without a neurologist. My Dr is going to also TRY to get my Insurance to approve my emgality with HER prescribing it. Its suppose to be prescribed by a neurologist but i can NOT go back to everyday severe migraines, I know at least a few of you most likely remember how bad my migrainse were a few years ago before i went on it. I do have an appt December 26th with a neurology NP but its thru the same clinic as my Pain Management PA so my PCP is going with someone else but said do not cancel the appointment until i have one withthe neurologist shes trying to get me into. Also still did not get approval to see the Orthopedic in GreenBay for my knee, its been about 3 weeks waiting for approval.
The GOOD news is Tomorrow my Dexcom 7 comes!!!! I am SO tired of the past 7 plus years of poking my fingers non stop and having either really high or low sugars, lately 200s for readings almost every time i test and i am on 5 shots of insulin a day and 1 of a non insulin injection. This CGM will help me get the control i need!
Miki - sorry that cat bit you. Hopefully that you took antibiotics right away will be a big help. I hope you got a long nap today with your kitties. Doesn't your kitty get how expensive toilet paper is these days : )
Fantod - Sorry your anxiety has been high. Life is too expensive. I cant afford anything but straight Medicare. My anxiety has been high lately and it doesnt take much for it to soar. My youngest brother sent me a fidget cube for my birthday and it is helping my anxiety. I started journaling again too. Now I have to get back into my Calm APP.
Our feel like temp right now is 112. We didn't get the rain in my part of Michigan that you mentioned ? earlier this week . We do have a nasty storm coming tonight from the big lake.
Blue - I hope things go well for your Mom. You have been through so much lately. I hope the people that broke into your house get arrested . Such a violation. All that cost with your house is ridiculous. So sorry .
Puppy mom - Happy Birthday !!! I never do any housework on my Birthday, but I get it you have company coming. I hope your guests are folks you enjoy being around.
Angela - Hugs. It seems like the 2 neurologists are running away from their practice . The patients pay for that. I hope everything can get worked out for you by your team.
Hi to Leo, Bec, LilMissy
