I think I grab something up first just to eat it like cracker or something quick instead of preparing vegs. A habit I need to change.
Dang it!
- it was hard to give up soda
- it was hard to give up processed foods
- it was hard to give up wheat
- now to give up nightshade veggies?
But if it helps, I'm all for it.
So let's go get healthy. :-)
Magic - I keep a bowl of cut up veggies in the frig. Makes it easy to grab instead of crackers. it is so much easier to prepare them when I'm feeling good, and not wait til I'm hungry. Grapes are good too, easy to grab a handful to munch on. Good Luck
May a good diet heal our bodies.
I have substituted sweet potatoes for potatoes. But bell peppers, hot peppers, and tomatoes are difficult to give up completely.
The best thing I've done for myself and my health was to elminate processed foods and fast food - you never know what's in that stuff. We cook everything from scratch, and we cook in large batches and freeze portions so we're not worn out from constantly cooking. It does take some time, but I actually crave veggies now instead of sugar.
Here's how it went...I was keeping a food dairy for months and when I looked back it was when ate those foods (nightshades)... that my pain would be worst.
Then I found out through a Alternative Med Doctor one day, she gave me a list of foods that may aggravate my conditions. I was blown away because the proof was in the pudd'in so to speak. There on my list before she handed me her list, I had all those foods with ? marks next to them, before I even knew anything about night-shades. Now I know everyone is different and some of these things may not aggravate the next....But the proof is it does most whom have severe Arthritis... I had a blood test done and found out I was allergic to wheat about two weeks later, I already thought that because that was flagged in my food dairy also as a maybe?
After not eating these things my pain level has come down tremendously. I still have pain more so when the Humidity is high and is cold out...But not to the point where I think Im going to die from it now..
O'k I talked alot! Sorry I just wanted to share that in case it could help someone else... (((hugs))) and thank you for your post and info. butterfli
