Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

Get the appointment with that person who always makes your muscles relax. Don't care who. Just go ahead. Make that appointment. There's your therapy.
Mine is not paying attention to the lack of safety demonstrated by the people painting the neighbor's house. Oh holy cheese and cracker. Forty feet up and the'yre gonna... Oh lordy. Ack! Eek!

So we all know that Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) is associated by patients with fibro. Mine sure was. BUT did you know?
But did you know the problem may be that we get the viruses because of the fibro?
Viruses causing upper respiratory tract infections are more common in fibro patients than the general population, tho' we're not sure WHY so don't go making conclusions. Correlation isn 't causation. It could be our meds wearing us out too.
One current argument is, yawn, the gut biome. Look, it sheds itself every week. Diseases of it are readily diagnosed and causes easily distinguished. Did you eat food from Taylor Farms? It's not your fibro, it's cyclospora. H. Pylori is found in tons of GERD and ulcer patients WITHOUT fibro.
And only TWO studies so far (and that'ds not much) have shown any significant lower levels of immunoglobulins in fibro patients than normals. Here's the catch: Fibro symptoms can mimic early lymphoma symptoms. See how that gets tangled?
TLDR: Don't get married to any one theory or cause. We may never know, in part because men who complain of fatigue and muscle aches get more advaned testing immediately than do women. E.g., hubby got his diagnosis of a surreally unusual cancer in 6 months. In women, it takes 6 months to get the FIRST of the tests he needed... advanced bloodwork. The medical establishment claims 'hormones' a lot. Bullshit. They just blow off women more often.
The lesson here? FIGHT. Demand your dofcs talk to each other, and to you. Require answers. "Have you ruled out the things you say it fcan't be or are you just assuming it?" (Hubby's aunt died of a weird bone marrow disease b/c, gee, she spent 2 years being told it was, you guessed it, FIBRO. They did more extensive bloodwork and wham! Turns out her body stopped producing enough red blood cells. That should show up o n regular bloodwork but it might not.)
So... PUMA POWER

So far: spilled scalding cocoa on my foot and only rug; cat threw up a cricket; arm is killing me after stars aligned in another dimension; so, yeah, Wednesday. My in-laws are driving me nuts. ***Today in 55 BC, Julius Caesar let the dice fly high and tried to invade Britain. Likie most, he was driven back by the English Channel weaether, the English weather, the natives, and just the horror that...

Well my anxiety been extreme with my schedule however my youngest started community college today! I very proud of her as it's not been no easy feat as she is dyslexic and has adhd. I battled with school since she was in 1st grade so have watched her learn and grow. I had to make her change high schools her sophomore year which in the moment I hated as I changed schools so much I always tried to...

Took me 10 or maybe more years to get diagnosed with autoimmune arthritis despite close family history and I have psoriasis (also written off initially despite looking like typical psoriasis). Sigh...
Fibro symptoms overlap so many diseases out there. I really wish there was a blood test for this thing so it wouldn't take years to diagnose. More than anything else, I wish fibromyalgia had its own specialty, instead of having to see a dozen different ones whom only treat one of the symptoms. Podiatrist for the feet pain. Neurologist for the migraines. GI specialist for the IBS symptoms. Pain specialist for chronic back pain and neck pain, etc.
Fibromylagia affects the whole body.... not just one foot, or one arm, or just your back, or only your gut. Every cell in your body is affected. I wish there would be one specialist to treat all the fibro symptoms. And if they can't make one specialist to treat all, then someone should at least invent fibromyalgia centers where they have a team of specialists to help patients, so we can see them all at one place and they all work together. Now, that's an idea!
Texas summers are brutal! The triple digits heat has killed several of my plants: one of the hibiscus bushes, a young avocado tree, and our cherry tree. Banana trees are wilting, but luckily they always grow back. And the heat isn't done yet. I noticed that triple digits can last well into September here. Yikes.
Babies are growing up fast! They are 2 months old now. Their weight was about four and a half pounds at discharge from NICU. Now, the girl weighs 8 lbs and the boy is 10 lbs!! He has big feet, so he will be a big boy! :)
The VA failed to fill my prescription for chloroquine phosphate.... and sent a message last week that there is a delay in filling that medication. I guess they are out stock?? I ran out Friday, so dry mouth (Sjogren's) has gone wild. Also experiencing constipation.... he not sure it is related, but I did notice less GI upset when I got on the medication.
Miki, I will say a prayer that surgery goes well.
Gonna scroll past posts and see what I missed! Shoutout to Fabtod and AngelaJo!
My older brother had a mountain biking accident last year and broke his collar bone in 3 places. Flew down to Mexico for emergency surgery, which later got infected and had to have surgery to replace the metal pieces. Then they broke and he had to have surgery to remove them all. Man oh man. Anyway, I hope your brother feels better soon. I can not imagine what life must be like with a broken femor of all things!
I'm really run down. I have to get showered and get out of here. I am working today but the client contacted me to come later because their departure is delayed. I'd really rather not.
Miki - I am hoping that the surgery goes really well and that the mass is not a complicated removal. And, I am sorry to hear that your grandmother is in hospice.
Fibromyalgia is Satans spawn in so many ways. If we were men, it would already be cured. I'm hoping Long Covid research may offer up some options for us.
I'm sad about Dolly. She was a righteous human and will be sorely missed. Another loss of someone/something genuinely kind in this nasty world.
