Good morning!
Well, the saga of my package continues. It bounced around West Virginia and is somewhere in Virginia now. Honestly, on Google maps I half expect to see some strange omen or symbol that will lead me to a great truth, or treasure, or possibly just the dumb SOB who did this. Whichever. I'm cool.
Did everyone sruvive fireworks, heat, family,e tc., okay?
We had no fireworks from the neighbors past 9 PM. One kind they were using are illegal for home use (which is saying something around here), and got some attention from anyone within a half-mile radius. Including a patrol car. Cue the sirens!

TOday in 1943, the Germans and Soviets went tank to tank in the battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle of that war, and possibly in history.
In 1946, the bikini debuted at a fashion show in Paris, France. Ooh-la-la, a two-piece swimsuit! Bear in mind that swimsuits in the early 1900s looked like knickers and blouses for women, so the mid-century mid-riff baring was *the* event. And bikinis have been a staple ever since.
Alas, in 1921 on this date, the Chicago White Sox --- or, rather, Black Sox --- moved into the jury selection phase of their trial for throwing the 1919 World Series. Despite being one of the gambling masterminds behind rigging the game by giving bits of money to the players, New Yorker Arnold Rothstein never saw a criminal charge or trial. Confessions by the players vanished, thus eliminating any criminal conviction chances given the lack of evidence and political pressure to "make it go away", but the confessions reappeared when the players sued their boss for unpaid salary. Thus did the whole mess come to light whether or not anyone wanted it to, and yet, nobody won a darn thing. Except maybe Judge Kennesaw Mountain Landis, who became the first commissioner of baseball, and as an ardent racist, kept blacks out of Major League Baseball.
The first signed were, of course, Jackie Robinson --- and the lesser-known and signed on this date in 1947 Larry Doby, who became the first African-American player in the American League half of MLB, signing with Cleveland. (Robinson, btw, started for Brooklyn in April of the same year.)

And on that note, I am going to face too much laundry, continued limited range of motion and loss of exercise capacity, and usual woes and wonders.
Big purrs to all!

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...
Today is already a clusterfuck. My car was making a weird noise and I ended up having to take my dad's truck to work this morning. Turns out something was hanging from under the car, which looked scary when I saw it, but I guess it's not a big deal and won't be expensive to fix. Now I'm at work and I had to schedule a euthanasia that is going to be complicated at the end of the day with a dr who's trying to leave early. I had no other choice and the Dr will probably be pissed. Just kill me now, anxiety is through the roof and I didn't sleep much last night
Leo, it's amazing, the saga of your package. I'm glad the fireworks weren't too bad.
Miki, I'm sorry today's shaping up to be so tough. You're in my thoughts.
I'm at work-- I think i"m having hormone issues because I'm getting worked up over things that normally wouldn't bother me. I had 50+ new emails in my inbox; it's a challenge when no one seems to be able to be patient regarding my response. Seriously don't email me the same question twice or three times in one day. I'll get to it when I can.
I spent a bit of time helping my husband in the garden yesterday. I did that because I wanted to spend time with him. And my brother came to visit yesterday, which was nice.
My fibro symptoms have been really bad--the heat has been making it worse. I'm feeling my usual stuck feeling. I know I need to exercise more, but it's so hard to get started when I hurt so much. Why are good habits so hard to form and bad habits so hard to break?
Stay cool everyone...thankfully, this heat's supposed to back off a bit this weekend. I hate July.
Leo, glad you didn't have any fireworks at your house after 9:00.
Miki, I hope your day gets better.
Angela, hope you are feeling better today. Glad to hear at least the fluid is going away.
Twin, hope you got through your busy day yesterday okay. So sorry to hear about your marriage issues. I agree with Blue, though, that it's not good to live with all that negativity. I don't think I'll ever get married, because I think that if someone isn't happy in the relationship, they should just go and be happy somewhere else. Life is too short to be miserable.
Blue, glad the fire is out and the air is improving. You have a great attitude about your marriage. You will be fine if things don't work out.
Hope everyone has a good day today. Take care.
Susan
Leo, I hate bikinis, it feels like swimming in undies to me. I'm glad you didn't have late fireworks going off. It got pretty loud for us and didn't seem to end until around 10:30.
miki, it sounds like you have a very rough start to your day. I really hope it improves and that doctor doesn't get pissy.
zk, hormones just suck. I get emotional easy and I'm on hormone therapy to help me. I make myself get up in the morning to get some physical activity in. I make it light and easy but it does help with my frame of mind, otherwise my depression would be through the roof. You might try starting light. I just want you to feel better mentally and physically. Hugs
Susan, I'm sorry you have poison ivy again. I hate that stuff, lucky for me I haven't had it since I was a kid and my girls have only had very light cases in the past. My niece and nephew get it bad. Living with negativity and rejection is horrible, but the idea of being away from kids sounds worse.
I was surprised nobody called on our neighbors, it's illegal for us and they were so loud. I found one on my porch this morning, that's exactly why I don't like them in a neighborhood, they are so stupid and could burn someone's house down.
It's like someone just flipped a switch in my ears. They are all of a sudden blocked and ringing bad. I'm at work feeling horrible. I see my rheumy next week but I'm not sure why, he never helps. I see the neurologist sometime in August and I'm praying he is making progress trying to get insurance on board with IVIG treatment for small fiber neuropathy (SFN). I just hurt so much and I don't want my kids to be stuck with me. I read a few articles over the weekend and it looks like SFN is a big research item when talking about fibromyalgia. I'm not sure how many of you have been tested but it's worth asking a neurologist.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Leo, I would be so mad about the package. They had better refund the shipping charge. Sorry your pain is still there. Hope laundry goes ok.
Miki, sorry work is stressful today. And the car is acting crazy. Hope you can rest tonight.
Bummer on all the emails, ZK. People think everything should happen instantly today. Hope work gets better.
Susan, so sorry for the poison ivy. I’ve never had the pleasure, thank goodness. Good that you and your dog had fun yesterday.
Today I start cleaning. Our son and family are driving up from Albuquerque, and will get here Saturday night. They are only staying one night as they are going to DIL’s family for a week, then back by us later for a week. I sure look forward to seeing them.
I have had a bad pain week, but today is a bit better. I’m glad about that for the cleaning purposes.
More later.
I wish things were better for your family. Your husband just seems to have no heart. I’m sorry he hurts you so bad.
Check - in.
Resting today.
Pray all is well with everyone. Hope everyone feel better today.
Pam
Leo I am glad that your fireworks in the neighborhood didn't cause problems. It is scary that you had one on the porch.
Miki I hope your day turns out better than expected and the doctor won't get pissed. I hope your car gets fixed quickly and you will be back to driving it.
Twins I hear you on the doctors not doing much if anything.
Ida I hope you can get the work done without so much pain today. It is always fun to see your kids but I am like you and want everything clean and often overdo doing it.
ZK it is never fun when you have pushy people that believe you should be able to do what they need right now. I hope they will give you time and room.
Angela it is so hard to be patient and wait for the meds to do what they are supposed to do. You are doing so good.
Pam I hope you have a great day.
I have a counseling appt soon so I need to get off here. I hope you all have a less pain day.
Leo, I sure hope your package shows up soon and in one piece. UPS better give you a refund.
To my amazement, fireworks here weren't too bad either. It was actually kinda quite compared to the norm and like you after 9 things pretty much stopped. I'm guessing because it's a week night and people have to get up for work in the AM. And mom's cat, Spike, usually totally freaks out at any strange loud noise outside, God forbid fireworks, but also to our amazement, stayed calm all night and did not cower / hide anywhere and instead hung out with us in the living room all evening till we went to bed.
I didn't go anywhere or do anything special yesterday. All I did was chores all day long. Worked in the yard mostly... and aggravated my back pulling weeds. I did bake cookies later in the day, but I had to make them sitting down because I couldn't hardly stand up straight from the pain. Hubby is home.... it's a bit weird having him back after being gone a little over 3 weeks. He plopped into bed just before dawn (after his usual night owl whatevers) and startled me awake. Couldn't get back to sleep. Don't know what's in the plans today.... hopefully he will give me a back rub? Well, one can hope, right.
back in a sec
Angela, sorry you have to wait it out and finish the meds. I sure hope it gets better for you soon. That is a lot to be struggling with.
Hi Pam, I pray you are having the best day possible.
Autumn, I hope the counselor helps and you are having a decent day.
Miki, car troubles, ugh! I hope you figure out what the problem is. Keeping my fingers crossed that the euthanasia goes well and you also get to keep the credit. Poor animal, whatever happened.
Zombie, I would be overwhelmed at 50 emails, especially if they are repeating. I'm sorry fibro's been bad. Maybe you have to change it up a bit? Are you getting enough rest, what kind of foods are you eating, stress management, etc. You can start an easy exercise program eg. walking 5 mins a day and slowly increase.
Thanks so much, Susan, means a lot to me. Oh no, not poison ivy! My husband came home with a nasty case. I gave him a leftover steroid cream to use, but I hope he'll see a doctor.
Twins, I'm sorry about the ringing in your ears. Loud sounds (like my mom's shouting) will trigger mine too. And I'm really sorry about your pain being out of control too. You are practically a single mom already and do most everything w/o his help.... but if things were not to work out between you 2, is there another family member who you think wouldn't mind living with you? It's just something to think about. I wish your husband would step up and act like one, but life doesn't always work out the way it should. Sadly -_-. Keeping fingers crossed you get IVIG treatments! I want to ask my neuro about SFN too.
Ida, glad your pain is a bit better... I've hated hearing about your arm and how frustrated you've been. Yay for your son coming up! :)
Angela, I hope your rough day makes a turn around. Also that your mom is more understanding... dusting while you have fluid in your lungs is absurd.
Autumn, I hope counseling went well. I hate those booming fireworks, they should not be neighborhoods where someone's house/ car could catch fire.
Twin, I've had that problem with my ears too. Maybe hold your nose and act like you are blowing your nose. I was a scuba diver and they told us to do that when we felt that way. Don't know if it would work, but worth a try.
Blue, hope things go well with hubby being back.
Ida, hope you are able to clean in an easily manageable way.
ZK, I know it's hard to start exercising again. A lady at my chiropractor's office told me to just do stretches throughout the day for a minute or two at a time and slowly build up.
AngelaJo, I sure hope that the medicine starts doing its thing soon.
Autumn, I hope your appointment goes well today.
Take care,
Susan
AngelaJo: Levaquin is a heavy hitter--a drug that you must take if you need it, but one that contributed significantly to the onset of my fibro/chronic fatigue. Take probiotics with the drug, if you can keep it down.
I've been a little out of sorts for the past week or so. Busy at work, and now planning a road trip to see my miserable family--haven't even started the journey and I'm regretting it already.
I definitely think fibro/chronic fatigue has a serious emotional element that should be investigated. And...believing that has not empowered me to make better decisions--choices that center my well-being, joy and health!
(Remind me that I wrote this next summer when I start planning to take my boys to see my parents)
