Wow! well it seems like I've been running and rushing above and (way) beyond my normal tolerance level trying to fulfill my commitments...and so, it was bound to happen. Today I woke up without waking up. All day -my mind is so fuzzy. Can't concentrate or stay on track, and my body feels like I've never taken a pain pill. My son dropped by for a visit, so, is it coincidental that I'm miserable today or is my body beating me up with the stress I didn't have the nerve to admit to myself? Yea, I know...well, be that as it may, and after trying mostly unsuccessfully to communicate what's going on with me today to my guys, I ended up here. A safe place, thank you. and how nice it is to know that SOMEBODY ELSE UNDERSTANDS. Anyway, I bowed gracefully out of accompanying my hubby to fix my friend's car. (I didn't really help much anyway except for scrubbing the grease encrusted parts he took off before he returned them to their puzzle). This I did yesterday, bending over a wood stump in her front yard with a tiny brush and bottle of degreaser.Hmm, maybe THAT accounts for my hands feeling like claws! I saw a note here about making little notes to yourself when "the fog" rolls in. It's so maddening! I feel helpless, but that helps. Peace!

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Before fibro I was I Marine.... At one point, right up until I started going downhill pretty quickly, I was a night dispatcher. It's probably not as chaotic as it was for Ida working in the ER, but.... we worked 24 hr shifts (24 on, 24 off and often running over). It often did get pretty chaotic and you're in charge of / managing many operations. You had to multitask like you had superpowers and make split second decisions that sometimes, if the higher ups didn't like, you'd ended up in trouble oh well, you're the dispatcher not them. Right? Anyway, I remember when my migraines became more frequent to the point it was really effecting my function. There was fatigue, and other unexplained symptoms that kept me from being up 24 hrs straight. My higher ups were furious with me. The migraines and fog alone often stopped my work in its tracks. I got fired (from that position) but they wouldn't say it was because I was in pain. Terrible rumors started going around about me. But that's anther story for anther day. I'm getting off track. It's just hard to imagine the brain power I once had before fibro. I often miss the old me. Sigh. I can only try to build a new one with what I have.
