Good morning! SHe slept past 4 AM! YAY!
Of course, I fell asleep at 3, LOL.
So, this thing emerged from under the bed last night. Oh *shi*!* I was thinking of tarantulas, actually, not furry creatures, for no real reason beyond Hubby found a spider egg sac in his bananas (take that as you wish). And I've got wolf spiders. Who are "loving mothers" for spiders --- really?! Yes, really. They're also fast as hell, covering a meter a second at top speed. They move so fast I've seen cats levitate to avoid them from sheer startle response, and yes, they're in my area, and yes, I loathe the suckers. Ugly, hairy, and zippy. I don't like things that move so fast I can't kill them.
Anyway, we had a wolf spider with her babies on her a few months ago --- long story short, the babies hitch a ride on Mom for a bit, and it's the most nauseating thing I've seen in the natural world in a long time --- and when this thing emerged and flitted across the room? Oh, did I ever flash back to AAAAEEEEEEIIEIEIEIEIEEEEEK! MONSTER!
Well, I was (fortunately?) reading a copy of "Universe", which happens to be a catalogue of stars, nebulae, and anything else astronomical you can name. Yes, it's rather large and heavy (not unlike the cosmos itself) and... well, I flung it. SLAM!
I picked up the book, ready to jump for my life. And found I had valiantly killed... a ball of cat hair dcriven from under the bed by the floor fan.
BTW, "Universe" is dry as the Atacama Desert, which pretty much means it can help me fall asleep, but after that adventure? Yeah, no.
THus, TGI Fur! ...
I'm sure this happens to other people, but maybe I'm the only one idiotic enough to admit it?

Neuro visit was a clear check-up. He's not worried about anything. Well, I asked him about my mom's situation, and... yeah, my gut call was the right call. Thing is, when someone has such head-to-toe edema, and the primary symptom to watch is their eyes "bulging" --- how will I ever tell? Mom's so puffy and overweight... I'll have to start using photographs for reference and hoping that it works. We don't have any since her brain tumor, but I'll have to do my best. *sigh*

Hoping everyone stays safe, well, and happy today, as much as possible. I'm off to deal with the cleaner we hired for Mom, and marking out areas of concern for the tree experts to check for us, and make sure the medical log is up to date for Hubby's cancer doc visit next week, and get in touch with my mom's neurosurgeon's head nurse about craniometry or whatever, and and and... Yep. That stuff. Y'know. Everyday normal people stuff. Man, I miss the days when I only had to be upset if I forget the dry cleaning...
Puma power!

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...
Hugs to all.
Yesterday was the first day in a week that I didn't actually cry. Definitely came close, mostly when I was in the backyard near the porch, which still smells like horses. I still haven't moved anything out of there and it's not likely to happen this weekend. I need to leave here around 11 to drop Miki off at my parents house and then meet bf to head to Boston. We're going to tailgate (aka day drink and eat snacks) and then the concert starts at 5. Kenny Chesney is the main act but I'm more excited to see Dierks Bentley. I hope to get a couple things done around the house before I leave because tomorrow I need to be at my parents house to dog sit for most of the afternoon.
Leo, wolf spidies...they are like little freaks of nature! I saw one building a web outside Andypant's nursery one morning. Being a new mom and all I grabbed the vacuum and opened the window and sucked that puppy up. (at the time we had a Rainbow vacuum, so that thing hit an instant Minnesotian Hurricane).
I used to kill them in the sand box too when I was out playing with the boys. If the spiders have fur, that I can see, and I can see their eyeballs? Yup, sudden death!
I had a bad experience in the shower one day. I used to be the girl who would let spiders live, co-habitate with them. And one day after I was recently married, I stepped into the shower and saw the spider I lovingly named spot and then I noticed lots of little spots...all over the place...I freaked and grabbed the vacuum and well I never got over that moment.
Nor the centipede who tried to take a tub time with me when I was a kid either. Seeing all those legs doing a dead mans float!! *yish*!!!
I'm sorry your mom is going through so much right now. And to deal with her cleaning lady, hubby's stuff....I hope a cute furball whisks past you today, you know the kind that likes to purr. And may there be a cup of hotchocolate to soothe yourself with too.
Aspie, wholly smokes, that sounds like quite the migraine! I'm glad your feeling better after it all.
Miki, I hope your weekend is a great distraction for you. And that you have fun at the concert.
My mom made it home yesterday and was looking pretty good. She's on restrictions (mobility) until Sunday. And her pain management is still tricky. I feel so bad for her when she needs to sneeze or cough, you can tell the intensity of the pain because it interrupts her sneeze/cough.
Due to this, my Sis is working from home today and I'm intercepting some meals that my mom's friends are making for her. (With crud going around, we want to keep germs at bay). And I'm already looking into getting flu shots and such. If we can keep anything away right now, this will be our biggest defense.
When I got home last night I came into seeing my hubster trying to iron for the first time. (we got a new steam iron). My word, that man makes me laugh! I love him so much!
And I'm feeling pretty good today. I slept like a rock last night and the entire night.
Today I'm baking....I have a buttload of bananas that have ripened too quickly on us, so they are morphing into banana bread for my niece as she starts her college courses next week. I'm also making her a little money tree. Her work kinda gave her the shaft in hours and instead of coaching, she'll be working in the office (less pay). So I plan to just pick up some gas cards here and there to help her out. She'll always be my baby girl, my sis just doesn't realize it, LOL.
Okay I'm off to go get the boys up and running....well feed them. I hear them already playing on the xbox. One more week and school will start here. It's gonna be a shock to their little brains to get back into the swing of things I think.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Blue, still praying for you...check in if you can!
Aspie, that migraine sounds so scary. I'm so sorry you experienced that again, I hope it never happens again.
Miki, have a fun day and a safe trip. I know things are still tough right now, but it will get better. Have lots of fun!
Wonder, I'm glad your mom made it home and is doing as best as possible. I bet sneezing and coughing is something horrible. I'm praying for her and you. Have fun baking, it sounds like a lot of hard work, but also fun since I love baking. Hugs
My legs are hurting a lot today and I feel the constant urge to pee. I think it's the new supplement SBI Protect. I called the doctor and I'm waiting to see if this is common, I looked on the Mayo website and it looks like frequent urination can be a problem with it. Fantastic, I already drink too much water.
I feel guilty the weather is going to be nice this weekend, by nice I mean not raining, it's going to be 95 degrees. I don't want to do anything but I know the girls would love to go do something outside. I'm trying to wrap my brain around it. I asked them last night if they wanted to go to the movies or to the park, and it was a tie. How about neither? :-)
I hope everyone has a good day.
Leo, I don’t so much like spiders, but I can kill one in a big hurry. Yours sound quick as listening though.
So sorry for your Mom and all you have to handle with it. And hubby. And lack of sleep. And, and. Hugs.
Aspie, glad your migraine is over. That sounds awful. Good that you feel better today.
Miki, I just wanted to say how sorry I am that you had to give up Breacan. I know how hard that is as I gave up Quincy last year. I cried my eyes out. You will start to feel better. It just takes time. Have fun at the concert. Sounds like a good time.
Wonder, I feel so bad for your Mom and you caretakers. So hard on everyone. I pray she improves each day. Hope school goes well. I’m sure it will be another great year.
Sorry your legs hurt so much, Twin. I hope can go to a movie instead of outside this weekend. I always have to pee, and I’m even on a medium for overactive bladder. Such troubles we have.
Hubby comes home today. I have to pick him up during rush hour. Oh yay. It will be good to see him though.
I found out that in September we are going to Florida to go to an NFL game. (Raiders and Dolphins). I’m so excited! Hubby’s boss is a real Raiders fan. Should be a great time.
I have babysitting duty for 4 days in early September while my daughter paints and what-not in their new house. Little guy is just starting to walk, so I will be busy.
I having terrible rib pain lately. The heating pad helps quite a bit.
I pray that Blue is ok. I’ve been thinking of her so much.
Blessings to all who follow.
I am finally getting the new parts for my bi pap machine. I am supposed to replace them every 6 months but it has taken over 3 years to get an appointment. I am going to complain and let them know this is not acceptable.
Be back later.
The worst part of the storm is just about here. Our power has flickered off and back on so many times I'm surprised we have power at all. But that may end soon. We are expecting 20 -30 inches of rain this evening!
I have tried discussing an evacuation plan with hubby but he is refusing to leave. It's boiled down to... if things become dangerous, I may leave without him.
Autumn, that is incredibly ridiculous to wait that long. I'm praying for your pain as well and I hope the appointment goes good.
ida, I'm glad you're back in business with the new router. That's exactly how I feel, like it's giving me overactive bladder. We do suffer a lot. I hope the drive to the airport and home arent' too bad, and yay for NFL tickets. I'm so happy for you.
Angela, life is hard and getting hurt over and over again is not easy. Just turn to God and he will never fail you. I'm praying for your pain and depression. Sending you lots of chocolate.
Blue - leave without him. 30 inches of rain in a mudslide area is very dangerous. The ground will not be able to absorb that much water. Please be safe...
I got my parts. And he fixed the download problem. Then I did some shopping. I hit pier 1 and got three salad size plates to display for fall. I know fall is a ways away but I needed to do something for me. It felt good and they had great sales going on. I rarely buy for myself so when I do I make sure it is a reflection of me.
I am praying for everyone's pain. I have towels in the dryer and clothes in the washer. That should just about do me in.
Two amazing friends showed me today just how much they care. Really helps and they stepped up to be there for me today..... Still upset but it really did help
