Good morning.
I got nothin'. Mom wants to revoke POA and we see the lawyer today and she is going to say we coerced her into filing bankruptcy, but she's $70K in debt and only has, oh, a fourth of that amount in *gross* income every year in retirement, but hey! We're horrible people and she doesn't want to go to jail. Don't ask. The post-tumor paranoia means she cannot be reasoned with. I just have to watch the train wreck. Again. She has little impulse control, so her environment has to be quasi-controlled by others, and if she's full in charge of her finances? She'll rack up more debt, cash out her *one* remaining reitrement fund in a panic to pay off enough to avoid court, and then be stuck with only Social Security, and then what? Right. Been here, seen this tree, y'know? Hubby is sure he can convince her to not do this, b/c I'm still her kid and her target, and my input is worthless. It's official. I have a teenager...

Things I want to see happen:
1. US Congress have their healthcare repealed without notice or replacement options provided. Overnight. Like, now. Welcome to *my* world. I'm only insured via an ACA exchange. They repeal, and I lose a big chunk of my IRA paying for coverage at highest rates (pre-existing and PTSD, oh boy) *if* I can get coverage at all!... until I can go on Hubby's job-provided insurance (APril). But no one is even givin gme options for insruance. Nobody wants to, until they see what happens. Ummm.... Do the words "backup plan" just not exist when you get past a certain level in corporate thinking? (I know they don't in politics. Duh. History shows us that.) I'm already struggling to pay with the ACA exchange, b/c my state was one of the dumb ones. (WHen Kentucky outperforms your state, you know it's bad. No offense to Kentuckians. Just sayin'.)
2. An option on phone trees that is "If you have no idea what th ehell we're talking about, please press six." Yes!
3. News to stop reporting on health sciences in less than 90 seconds. It's medical science. If you can sum it up in less than 90 seconds, odds are you've left out something important, unless it's "Eat less, move more."
4. Someone to explain to me how the heck a "transgender" bathroom will work, b/c I'm sure not volunteering to check DNA versus genitals versus clothing choices. I mean, do we need to pass a quiz before we can just use the rest stop on th einterstate?! Go through an X-ray? WTH? I gotta go! Let me in! Eek! (I predict such laws, btw, will result in a lot of trees being "watered"....)
5. An end to marshmallows cut like cubes. I'm sorry, that just looks like tofu, and it's wrong. Ew.
6. Someone to admit that sugar-free caffine-free cola is really just caramel-colored fizzy water. (Ahem. Hubby!)
7. An explanation for why putting out three bowls for three cats results in three cats trying to all eat from one bowl.

And on that note, gotta prepare for a long day of Mom-wrangling. Blesings on your day and thank you for letting me rant a bit.

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Sorry about your mom being so difficult or should i say impossible?
My sponsor called last night because he could tell with my typing i was close to breaking down (not a good thing with bronchitis and a sinus infection btw) And as soon as i answered the phone i burst into tears, this was after 10 pm when he normally watches the news with his wife. He talked about 20 mins until he knew i was ok again but dang that brought on nose waking up and cough waking up! (trying to put it with out TMI LOL) I slept like a rock after that from about 11 until 630. The sleep helps, a lot, but i am still feeling depressed and being stuck in bed for days does NOT help that! I miss my dog but no way i could walk her with how sick i am right now. My sinuses are getting some what better but my cough is doing the complete opposite! UGH ive had 2 days of antiboitics i dont take more until supper time its a one a day one. I will NOT go back to the walk in or to the ER this weekend if not better im not up to sitting there this sick. I hope everyone has a good day! Oh and pain? Ya i know im alive with every breathe i take, so much for doing better on that.
I beg to differ on the ACA. I can't wait for it to be over. My hubby's insurance has risen by more than twice the amount it was before ACA. It is now more than twice as much as our mortgage. With less coverage. I'm sure there will be a better option coming down the pipe. It can't be worse for our family, anyway. Hubby is about ready to drop his insurance.
Did DS change the way we see threads...or is it just me? I was showed a post that "might be of interest to me" and it was a very personal thread, in another support group, of one of the people I'm friends with on here. I think this is very wrong.
Very cold here this morning. I'm going to try and do some house cleaning today. Our friends may come over after we go out to eat, to play cards or something.
Nothing much going on otherwise. Hope everyone has a great day. At least a good day.
I had my bloodwork done. At 9:45 I will leave work to go for the Ultrasound. I am positive nothing is wrong with my Aorta, but thankful the doc (who I thought I didn't like at the PCP's office) is being thorough. I really think they should ultrasound my pancreas. I may suggest that when I see him at 12:40. I didn't sleep much last night. My stomach (for lack of better area) hurts. My head is throbbing and I forgot to take my BP meds this morning. Oh well. Everyone it is Fun Friday! Try to have a good day.
Ida, we had temps in the 50's yesterday and this morning it is back in the 20's and very windy. I hate the temp changes. Don't worry too much about your house. I am sure your friends don't care what it is like. I hope you have a good dinner out and aren't in too much pain today. Have you gotten rest after your excursion to see hubby?
Angela, healing wishes!
Ida, don't blame the ACA for the insurers being greedy. THey got their money through the ACA subsidies, then passed the (nonexistent) cost on to other consumers. Where in their trillion-dollar industry are the insurers ever *losing* money, I'd lvoe to know, b/c the rest of us sure are broke. (BTW, I have coverage via ACA exchange. I didn't say it was affordable. I had to cash out an IRA to have health care coverage. And, as Bball pointed out, I'm self-employed. You want to talk about the wrost of both ends of the stick?! ACK!)
I am in utter despair. Total. My mom is pulling the whole paranoid-they're-out-for-my-money routine. The lawyers are going to have us here allllll freaking day now. We may end up in emergency court hearing. Thi sis not how to spend a Friday.
I want a phoen tree option for "If you want out of this cluster-fu**, please press one"
I sure hope everything gets worked out with your mom today so you have it over with. How awful.
Bbmom, I pray your physical troubles are an easy fix. It's so hard to wait with this stuff. Plus you feel like crap in the process. Sorry this is going on for you.
Leo, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. How can your mom be considered competent in light of her health? I pray your husband has a cool head and this resolves quickly. Do your breathing!
Angela, glad you slept. You'll get better. Praying.
Ida, insurance is a mess. I hate dealing with it. Enjoy your time with friends. Stay warm!
BBMom, I had the same ultrasound done. Nothing wrong. Hurt my ribs though because of the pressing of the instrument. I pray you have no issues. It never hurts to ask for extra tests. I hope your stomach gets to feeling better.
I woke to extreme pain and fatigue. I have so much to do to prepare for my conference tomorrow. I'm presenting three seminars and moderating a discussion. The way I feel, I'm going to have to slap on the smile and push through. This weather roller coaster makes me ache. Ugh. I just want to curl up and stay warm in bed.
I'll read your posts late tomorrow. Thinking of you all.
Angela, I hope your cough gets better. It would love to hear that it went away this weekend. :-) I know being stuck in a bed is depressing, but remember it's to help your body heal. Get up occasionally to stretch and do something and maybe that will help. I'm praying things improve.
ida, don't overdo on the house cleaning, and I hope you have fun tonight. How is your back?
bbmom, I hope your blood work comes back fine and the ultrasound is clear, but they find what's ailing you, if that makes sense? We had temps in the 60s yesterday, and this morning I think he said it was 18 and freezing rain coming. I came to work b/c it hasn't started where I'm at yet. I will head come early if it starts coming. It looks like this will be our weekend freezing rain, praying out power stays on, and dealing with 3 cranky butts at home, gotta include my husband with the kids. :-)
Bobbi, I hope things improve so the seminar isn't so tough on you. The pain and fatigue is a beast! I'm sure I will be trying to clean tomorrow, I hope your seminar goes great! I will pray for you first thing tomorrow morning, and be thinking about you all day.
So I came to work despite the freezing rain coming, in hopes to get more done and maybe head out early. The girls are already out of school b/c of the ice storm. I know they worry about the buses going home, so I'm glad they closed. The pain continues with intensity. I see my rheumy Monday morning, it's usually disappointing, but praying something good comes out of it.
I hope everyone has a good day! Remember you are not alone.
BObbii, I'm with you. Every time I get adjusted, they change the site, or the weather or.... Rest up before your marathon day...
Leo, sorry your mom is at it again! Ugh! If her mind had be like that, I'd rather she think aliens are out to get her not her own daughter :(. I hope your hubby helps.
Rand Paul just announced (about 2 days ago?) a replacement plan to the ACA. I was trying to read up on it last night but thanks to this fog, can't remember what I read. It's important to me too since it affects my mom (her medicaid portion?).
Another night of crappy sleep. Still sick. I'm hoping it's not going into my chest..... since I have asthma and that's usually the trend with colds. Had a huge blowout with my husband last night. He even threatened to leave and grabbed a bag, but then changed his mind and set it on the floor. But then said when the lease is up, so is our marriage that he'll be moving out to find his own place "it's over". I was so stressed out my chest hurt. I told him to sleep on the couch, he said he's not a dog walked over to the bed, laid down, 10 sec later was snoring (I kid you not). I shoved him (which startled him lol) and went down the list of all the ways I've rearranged my life (and went in circles) just to make him happy over the course of our marriage and how I physically paid for it!! He's never appreciated anything. That he doesn't deserve me (because he said I'm a sh*tty wife). His response, "Well if you put it that way, I guess I am an #sshole." and asked to give me a hug. Then he tried to use the "well I don't want to make your life more miserable, maybe you're better without me" line. Give me a break! I've heard that kind of garbage from exes of mine (which is why they're exes) why do men say that? Just treat the person with love and respect OMG
I'm in no good mood today.... it has me wondering that all it's going to take is one more fight and he'll be walkin. He won't put the bag down next time. And I'm sure he'll be back to lying to himself again about how much a sh*tty wife I've been. After Leo's thanks for listening to *my* rantings.
Back in a bit.
Bobbi, I couldn’t imagine doing seminars. Bless you for doing that. I hope the weather straightens out in your area to help with the pain a bit. Sending you good mojo to get through everything tomorrow.
Twin, I agree that hubby’s should be classified as children. Sorry Kel. I pray you don’t lose power and that the roads are clear to get you home safely. Have a good weekend.
Blue and Kel, I hope everything is well with you both. Sonya, I hope the move is progressing for you. Fantod, I hope you are muddling through and doing okay. I am happy you are still going on as if you will have surgery. Hoping you do!
Near as I can tell, ACA did one thing...it kept ERs open. (They have to treat everyone with a life threatening emergency...insured or not...knowing if they have insurance or not. Imagine having insurance, but being too injured to show your cards...and being left to die...)
Fewer ERs will mean more long EXPENSIVE ambulance rides, and even more EXPENSIVE life flights (which can run 5 to 15k....just for starters...if they're actually doing stuff to you in the air...it can cost even more than that.) Most "insurance" doesn't cover it...
So who's got an extra 20k laying around? You'll need it when your local ER (s) closes down.
(I've already told my kids...refuse a life flight even if they try to guilt them into getting one.)
Angela, I'm glad your sponsor was able to help you feel a little better. Can your parents bring your doggy over to play for a little bit?
Ida, yeah I see someone's "other" post too. Weird! Sounds like you have a fun day ahead, except for the cleaning. Hopefully you don't have to do too much that.
BB, I hope you got all your stuff straightened out. Gosh, that would make my stress meter go up too! Sorry you feel like doo-doo, I hope you're getting a bite and taking your meds by now. Hopefully you can relax soon.
Twin, Ice storm? I hope you get out of there early too. Glad school was closed. Sorry your pain is so high and you'll be stuck with a bunch of cranky butts also. I'll be praying for your Mon appt.
