You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. How is everyone feeling? Emotionally, coming into the holidays? Physically? I thrive in chillier weather, being a weirdo.
In the meantime, comforting hugs for whatever is not okay.
Be it co-workers, clients, pets, spouses, parents, second cousins twice removed, or that guy down the road with the backfiring-at-0300 pickup!
We're all floating in a warm-to-our-preference gel that absorbs our aches. It rocks us to sleep. Our stress melts away. Anxiety rinses off us. It's carried awawy like smoke on the wind. The air is delicious with scents of your favorite foods. Brain fog ebbs as your body rests and your mind heals. Sleep comes easily. And we sleep deeply and well. We are in our happy jello, as I call it.
Happy Jello, everyone. :-)

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I am feeling emotionally beat up by the events that happened this week.
My SIL and her husband stayed with us Saturday through Tuesday. It was a really nice visit. I made ox tail soup and tamarind soup for them, which is my SIL's two favorite dishes. I really enjoy their company, and try to cook them their favorite dishes in an effort to keep them longer LOL.
My Mom went to my baby brother's house Monday and came back Tuesday evening. Apparently they got into an argument and by the end of the night, she called people (who called me) to tell them she wanted to kill herself. My husband and I talked to her but couldn't figure out what triggered this sudden mental health crisis. The next morning she spiraled again, so I called her psychiatrist and they told me to take her to the ER.
I had multiple appointments at the VA for specialists I have been waiting to see for half a year, so I was unwilling to cancel them and told Mom please don't do anything stupid while I was gone. My husband ended up taking the rest of the day off of work to come home and watch her.
We took her to the ER and got her checked in. We waited around for 2 hours, but they were packed full of patients and had not yet evaluated my mother. They told us they would hold her for 72 hrs on suicide watch so we went home.
Some time after 11 pm, a doctor from the hospital called me and diagnosed mom as being "over dramatic" and doesn't think she is a danger to herself and is therefore discharging her. Mom then called me all chipper and happy again and asked if we would pick her up. I said no. Neither my husband nor I were interested in giving her any more of our attention.
We can't help feeling like she pulled this BS stunt just so we would drop everything we were doing and pay all our attention on her. I am so over it. My older brother called to discuss a plan with me. I told him to help me find her a place and get her moved out of my house. He agreed.
Other wise, today seems to be a normal Friday with laundry and then later go to the pool for a swim.
We just got our monthly fractious Maine coon grooming session out of the way, and he was really good today. Usually his dad gives us his list of priorities in order, and we go until his patience runs out. Today we got it all done, and I can't remember the last time that's happened. His dad always schedules when manager and I are here, I guess he didn't do as well when he came in on another day one time. Dad is super nice, so we're fine with it. And the cat has had a couple orthopedic surgeries, he's got good reason to be combative when he's here. Hopefully the rest of the day will go ok, I'd like to get my certification stuff done this afternoon. I'm hoping to bang out the rest of my Christmas shopping tomorrow and then it's over with. It's still frigid here...but it means the cats are super cuddly at night, which is nice.
Woke up to discover my phone wasn't plugged in properly to charge. Since I need it for work, that wasn't great. Broke out my back up charger to cart around. It isn't acting right. I may need a new battery or a new phone (this one was used). Great timing.....
Worked two jobs. The one with the local cat practice connections was smoother today. It's a huge house with multiple feeding stations, water, fountains and litter boxes. I have to go back out just before 5 for the third and final job today.
Got my MRI results on my upper back and neck. Not good. I have multiple disc problems; collapsed discs, blown discs, some stenosis and some other crap. Not surprised. My lumbar is already a mess. Can't do anything about it until the New Year.
Then, I went to the warehouse club to get petrol and a couple of things from the store. Older gentlemen in front of me did not park correctly so the hose wasn't quite reaching his car. He got the nozzle in but not all of the way. Petrol starting spewing everywhere. I got out of my car and got it shut off. In the process, I got gas all over the bottom of my shoes which in turn got all over the mat in my car. I smell like a refinery. I've scrubbed my mat and my shoes. I'm over it.
Eating a late lunch while I type. Hopefully, that will straighten me out some. I really need to sleep too.
Coming into the holidays, I'm feeling pretty frazzled. I have several days of total work madness in a row. Next week is OK and then all h*ll breaks loose. I haven't shopped for anyone. I won't have any spare cash until a couple of these jobs wrap. Looks like everyone is getting a printed out gift card. I'd really rather that it was over and done with.
Blue - I am sorry that your Mom acted up again. I'm proud of you for sticking to your boundaries with her. I hope that your brother is going to be really helpful to find her a new place and out of your house. Hang in there.
Hi Miki - I'm glad that the Maine Coon cooperated today. Any cat is formidable when they are pissed. Maine Coons take it to another level just on size alone. I hope that you are able to get your certification done today.
Going to get off of my feet and read for a minute before I have to head out again. Stay warm! Waves!
Blue, I feel that Mama Drama. HUGS
Fan, I wish I could help but my own upper back is a mess due to hauling Hubby up the stairs and it just doesn't work. If I'm n ot careful? Loss of arm use. EEK.
Hubby is a mess. Which we know. He seems to think we'll lose everything. So I said, OK, go over our finances like we're your clients.
I think I broke his brain
