Some insuranced will cover it if the doctor prescribes it. Call your insurance company and ask them.

You can find inexpensive TENS units online through Amazon. Some people think they are very effective. However, they only work when you have time to sit still and use them. And, they only treat one area at a time so unless you have a real troublesome spot that just won't quit, you may not want to spend the money.

Yes it does help. But, ask a Physiotherapist to help you get one & teach you how to place it properly for maximum benefit, they use them a lot! So, are the experts! Some now are small enough to wear, too! xxoo's

Mine did not help too much with my pain. I only had to pay 70 dollars for mine through my pain clinics drs office (with pretty good insurance). It seemed to make these lumps of pain on my back (or what I call them) larger and therefore more painful.

it helps me a lot too. especially when i am swollen and cant sleep. they are usually 20-50$. if you have fms i highly recommend owning one

I did get good relief from using 2 tens devices at a time. You can buy a belt that has a pouch for the unit/s so you can use the unit/s on the go. I wore mine all day. You can buy tens gel and adhesive so you can reuse the electrodes. As I've posted before, I got a great deal on my tens units @ freedme.com. They were tens with IF combo for $108.00 each. Inferential is real nice as it penetrates deep into the muscles and you put the electrodes in an "x" shape and that is the "range" of treatment. Normally such a unit would cost 4-5 times as much if you ran it thru insurance. I paid upfront than submitted the claim to BCBS myself. freedme.com also has the best price on electrodes which can be pricey. I started having skin reactions to the tens gel or I'd be using my unit/s right now.

For me it's actually painful even on super low...but as you can see by the responses is everyone is different. It's definitely worth a try as it does help some people greatly and can be worn discreetly all day.

My TENS is old and cumbersome but uses water wiped on with a sponge so no gel needed & old reliable uses rechargeable batteries if I want too!

If thats the thing that shocks you I cant use it. My Chiropractor used one on me and sent me through a table SCREAMING. Best of luck to you though.
