So to top it all off, hubby's employer changed how much business they have to bring in to continue employment with benefits. Needless to say, it's impossible goals in this economy. So now we have to worry about that, while I'm continued unemployed and he's barely able to walk across the house from back pain. Sure, yeah, great, lovely....

I'll take the margarita. Who wants my taco?

I'll take margaritas and tacos, even though it's only 8 am. In my defense, I'm not working today. No doctor in NH today (the boss is on vacation, and the only doctor who is licensed in NH has a full day of surgery and appointments in MA), so there's no need for 3 techs. Both of the other techs have logistical stuff to do so they're each working a half day, and I got the day off. I'd have offered to go in for part of the day, but they'd already figured their schedules out by the time I texted last night, and frankly, I'm not about to turn down a day off. I think the manager tries to give me days off when this stuff happens because the third tech has taken a lot of time off already, and manager is already
off on Mondays and Wednesdays. And she knows I'm good with that too. Today it's raining all morning and I'm so unmotivated, so it’s a good day to not have much I need to do. I still got up early and ran, I was awake anyway because my insomnia is still really bad. And I ordered a new vacuum because mine is on its last leg...found a good one for pets on sale, and on Amazon I can do monthly payments on bigger items, so it’s like $25/month. It'll be here tomorrow.
Unfortunately, all the stuff I just said is too much good in my life, so naturally something had to give. The cats have had some sneezing for a little while and I wasn't sure if it was viral, allergies, or the mycoplasma they all were treated for. This morning Haco has conjunctivitis again so it's looking like it's mycoplasma and everyone has to go back on Doxycycline. And probiotics. And anti diarrhea meds for 4 of them. This time I'm just going to treat them until a couple days after they stop sneezing instead of the usual 10 days, and consequently do a lot of cleaning. At least nobody stopped eating or anything last time, even though their GI tracts were unhappy. And Doxycycline isn't expensive (I pay cost for meds, basically just pay back what it costs us to get it). But I definitely will need a drink today. And a nap. Having today off is great but tomorrow is gonna be a clusterfuck...

I don't eat tacos, but I am down for a Tako Tuesday. Tako is Japanese for octopus - it can be fried like calamari, steamed, grilled, or sautéed. My favorite is smoked tako...if you like smoked salmon, you'll probably like this version. But you'll like it fried if fried calamari is your thing. A round of sake on me!

Leo, 2 cysts on one ovary? Ouch!! I hope you are resting well now and you'll be feeling better soon.

Fantod, lol re the dump trucks! I'm glad they are making progress. I hope you find a good conversion kit. Hubby and I are talking about getting a propane generator, too, for the future property. And gas stove and water heater too. I heard about the freezes happening around here, they are rare, but people tell me they didn't have heat, hot water, or stove because all electric appliances. Anyway, better safe than sorry, right?

Sorry about your pets, Miki. I didn't know they can have allergies till Silver became allergic to everything especially grass. I hope they feel better soon. Enjoy your day off and treat yourself.

The housing market isn't as insane as 2 years ago, but prices are still in crazy land. We've seen about 40 houses now and 90% of them are busted up pretty good (require at least $100k in repairs) but people are trying to sell them for half a million! Even manufactured homes are listing at $475k. It's the twilight zone! And yes, we wrote schmoozing letters to the sellers, but our offer was rejected anyway.

Hubby said I overdid myself yesterday so he brought me breakfast in bed just now. I have the BEST husband on the planet. Some phone calls to make today...and later I gotta bring Mom food. Otherwise staying home and resting.

Afternoon Peeps - I'm not in the best frame of mind. RANT warning!

After a week long wait, I called the medical supply company regarding the whereabouts of my CPAP mask that I ordered online. Only to be told, that online ordering is "hit or miss" and the order was never processed! I was incredulous and pissed. They are "rushing" it to me. This is a Medicare certified supplier. Going to be complaining to Medicare for sure.

Last night, I walked into the kitchen to discover my partner had placed a pie just taken out of the oven on top of a 125 year old decorative pot that sits on an out of the way counter area. It's out of the way for a reason. He put it there to cool rather than using a proper rack. I was furious. He knows where the cooling racks are located. The pot was fine but it's the carelessness and complete disregard for things that I treasure that upset me.

Then, this morning, I went out into the yard to discover part of the pool collapsed from the weight of the rain. A side support is completely bent and will have to be replaced. I spent two hours out there cleaning up what I could reach and then getting the water out of the garage. I could not find a section of hose to use to empty the pool out - the tarp is displaced. Everything that I tried was either too stiff or broken and I couldn't attach it to the pump. I'm so pissed. I ordered a ten foot section of flexible hose from Amazon because we are going to need it. I will put it somewhere where only I can find it too. We have really bad storms coming in tomorrow. Nothing is going to get done with the pool today as my partner is out of town at a dentist appointments. I don't expect him back before 5. Insert primal scream here...... So, I'm not even sure that I will have a pool anymore after tomorrows storms.

PuppyMom - Thanks for getting us started today. I can't not believe the migraine medicine price increase! That is just not justifiable. I "feel" like I have PMS - in a completely murderous mood at the moment. Can you tell lol? I am not fond of tacos and tequila gives me a migraine. Mexican food in general is a no go for me. I detest raw tomato.

Leo - That is just wrong! Employers just suck these days and then some. If people are trying their best and work is slow how is that their fault? I don't even know what to say. Hoping that you are slightly more comfortable today.

Miki - Sorry about the kitties having a bit of a health issue. Glad that you got a day off because you need it.

Blue - I wouldn't be a Tako fan either. The driveway crew is back. So far, they have managed to keep the dump trucks from crashing into each other today. The beep, beep, beep noise is making me clench my teeth. I hope that you and Jack find a house. I can't imagine seeing 40 houses and having every offer turned down. That's crazy. I hope that you enjoyed your breakfast and that rest helps with whatever is currently bothering you.

Fan, what a crazy day! I'm sorry about the pot - that was careless of him. Glad it's ok, though, geez. And you had to push water out of the garage, too? Man, my gasket would be blown after a day like that! I hope things have quieted down and you can relax a bit when your partner gets back.

Puppy, everything is so expensive now, it's ridiculous!! How do they expect people to live through this inflation?! SMH
