On my right ankle the Achilles Tendon is extremely sore quite often and end up in bed because I can not walk.
My ankles hurt so bad a lot of the time, so that, I am only able to walk (LOL) to the bathroom and back to bed.
I was put on a diaretic for swelling but, that medicine lowered my blood pressure so much that I would almost faint. Not one that anymore.
I am going to get some of the cider vinegar pills that Jesse spoke about, maybe there is some help there. At least I'm willing to give it a shot.
Thanks for the post, I thought I was alone with this.
Believe it or not...it was my FOOT DOC that helped confirm my Fibromyalgia diagnosis. I had such severe pain in my left foot/ankle...that we were treating it as a stress fracture...I was hard casted and soft casted for months...to no avail...oh..I also had a foot brace made. She took my file to 2-3 of her colleages(sp?)...and all 3 of them asked her if I had Fibro...one of them is a top doc in the natiion for sports injuries. I mentioned this to my GP and his comment was ...no you don't have fibro..I am treating some patients with fibro...and you don't have any of the same symptoms...to which I said...it doesn't matter where you touch me...I always hurt...(This had just become such a "normal" way of life for me")....so I finally had my foot doc call my GP and discuss this...and then OF COURSE he gave me a referral to see the rheumatologist!!
When I went to be assessed...the rheumy said that I was a CLASSIC case of fibro....and had probably had it since I was 17....I was now 47!!! It started with a diagnosis of costochondritis. I wanted to shake my GP...needless to say....my foot doc is wonderful!! In fact she is treating my for something else now...and said there were only 3 options for treatment..orthotics, shots, and finally surgery...to which her next comment was.."And we know that surgery FLARES your entire body up!!"..so that will be a last resort!! Its so nice to have a doc who truly understands!!
My hands tend to swell a lot too. Sugar always makes it worse.
