Hi everyone-
Its been a while since I've been on here, so hello to some familiar old icons and hello to some new ones. :)
Earlier this week I had the worst flare up that I've had in probably a year. In addition to the usual symptoms, I had very strange pressure in both of my knees, especially if I was on the stairs, kneeled or attempted to squat. It was less pain and more pressure. It made me nervous to squat or get down on my knees -- it felt like I was putting too much pressure on them. Unfortunately, both of those things are hard to avoid because I've got a 7 month old daughter.
Has anyone experienced this before? I'm wondering if this is a combination of regular fibro pain and hormones related to nursing (I believe I read that the hormone that makes your joints loose in pregnancy is still produced while nursing), but if that is the case I don't know why I didn't experience this in any other joints. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

So there's a Bigfoot festival going on soon and Hubby is soooo enthused.I've spent so much of my life outdoors. I'm 99% sure their whoops and thumps and such are probably people up to no good tryihng to scare other folisk outta the woods without getting in trouble. Why do I say that? There's moonshiners in my DNA. And people who've lived in the forests since before white folks. If something was out...

Fun facts to up your day:The Big Bang wasn't IN space... it was OF space. How does that happen? Well, now you know why I'm NOT a physicist. Cuz I dunno. It just happened. Thena gain a new hypothesis is that our "black energy/matter" is actually waste dumped in our universe from somewhere else's black holes. How and all that? Don't ask. You start getting all "The Matrix" and muttering...

I've been battling knee issues this past year myself.
Pressure...yes. But after a shot of cortisone, the problem surfaced enough to get an MRI.
Good news, I have healthy knees. Bad news, it's leading towards an auto immune dysfunction (anemia).
I don't have a final diagnosis, as I'm still in the works of figuring this all out.
I went from a dumb/pressure kind of sensation to now pain and clicking and locking. Sounds structural, but the innerds of my knee are healthy. (which I'm thrilled with).
So I say, set up an appointment with an ortho and go from there. (if you can go directly to the ortho w/out seeing the primary doc first).
Good luck to you. Until you figure it all out, spend some time off the floor and on the bed if you can. I know your little one needs to explore and all, but if you can give your knees a break it might help too.
Have you tried icing? I was put on a ice 5x/day regimen and it helped.
Also, the knees may be taking strain from the pelvis. I've torn up my pelvis (2011, bad fall, not fun) and if the pelvis is cranky, my gait is off, and then my knees go, and there we are.
So, yeah, check in with an ortho to be safe, and for kneepads, I highly recommend the kind flooring contractors use. Cushioned, with hard caps. Ahhh.
BTW, nice to see you again:-)
The ortho knew it was just fibro pain when he touched my tenderpoints. Eventually it stopped. Probably aggravated by you caring baby u baby up and down the steps or laundry.
Get some ice packs or bio freeze and use it. Also salonpa patches help
