I applied for SSDI on July 1, 2012. I got my approval on March 20, 2013. Ist try.
So anyone waiting for approval, be patient, first time apoproval does happen.
I am in North Carolina, and I do believe states are different.
I will be praying for all still waiting.

Congratulations, I am happy for you. do you have to report for check ups every 6 months or a yearly report from your doctor. Did they say anything?. This will be good for you. Congrats again isabee

Such good news for you - being approved for SSDI.

I was also approved on my first try back in 2010. Have been dealing with fibro since the early 1980's. I also live in North Carolina on the west side of Lake Norman in the Sherrills Ford/Terrell area. So that means we are almost neighbors.

Congrats I am thrilled for you . I know that feeling is unbelievable. My husband was denied 2 times before he was approved. It was such a relief knowing that there would be a regular check coming in rather he was able to work or not. Take care.

Thank you for sharing that, Sandra....I'm thrilled for you! I've applied for the first time (in Alabama), and I've finished up with the disability doctors and am waiting for a decision.

The doctor who did my exam for depression/anxiety said based on what he saw, he didn't see any reason I wouldn't be approved. I hope that means something! He said that my having worked for a long time was in my favor.

I am in NC as well, in the lower mountains.

I did it on my own. I did have DeMayo waiting to take my case if I had been denied, But thank goodness I didn't have to use them. Where are you others at in North Carolina? I had just got out of the hospital from having a Right Total Knee Replacement when I got my approval, boy did that do a lot to make me want to get thru with my therapy.
