Leo, I hope your internet and or power stays on.
I hope everyone had a quiet Memorial Day. I will go back and read Monday's post after this.
Memorial day was quiet here.... but we threw a bbq the day before and 15 hungry, rowdy guests showed up. And they drought food too, so there was so much leftovers it was ridiculous. Lol
We have been experiencing violent thunder storms for the past 2 nights. Two nights ago, it partially flooded our back yard. Last night the storm was a lot more violent, though, and it felt like we were in a hurricane. The rain pouded so hard against the windows that it triggered our security alarm at 5 am. The sensors thought that an intruder was trying to break in. Thank goodness no one was! The whole back yard turned into a lake, though. There are more storms coming this week according to the forecast.
It's my Mom's birthday this Sunday, she turns 77. I asked her last week what she wanted to do for her birthday and she said, "Nothing." Then on Monday (the day after the bbq) she reversed her wishes and proceeded to list off about 10 dishes she would like me (or my brothers) to cook for her. And she wasn't asking us to choose one or two, no, she requested that we make ALL of them. Who TH is gonna eat all that?! So naturally I complained to my brothers about it and we all agreed we aren't gonna make those dishes. Both of my brothers that live in Texas are recovering from broken bones. And there's no way in hell I am cooking all 10 dishes by myself. I swear my mom is delusional sometimes and thinks she is some queen of a non existing country.
But, I digress. I hope you all are doing well and the rest of the week is uneventful. Hugs
Crappy weather again here today. Grey and we'll have rain later.
I have to see a client at 3:00 about a key. And, going to Urgent Care to get script refills. I don't feel like sitting in my PCPs office for 2 hours or more if I can even get an appointment. I'm just not up for a bunch of poking and prodding to be told something else is freaking wrong.
Mom's car is sold. Now, I can get new tires. I'll probably wait until around the 4th to do that. There will be good sales then.
Blue - I don't blame you for not wanting to cook all of those things. Especially since it may go to waste because of the volume. The weather has just been weird lately. I looked at our forecast for June which is 70's and rain. That will make it possible for me to do some gardening without dying from heat stroke, I hope that your day is peaceful.
Leo - I hope that your Internet and power don't fail entirely.
Hi Miki and Millie and PuppyMom!
Waves!
blue, duck and cover! My mom does that ten times a day. Cook nothing unless it can be frozen is my advice.
Fan, hugs.
Shout outs to Miki, Millily, AJ, PuppyMom, and all others! As I prepare to ice and heating pad my bad shoulder. It was better for one day. Then I slept on it. CRUNCH. Who knew?
It's been so yucky here that the cats are sitting under the grow lights for the plants.
The good news is this type seems to be effecting people with my type of chronic migraine. And it usually resolves in 4-6 months. If not then I might have some other type of long COVID.
There are treatments to try, but boss says I have missed too much time from having COVID. These treatments require several days of outpatient procedures.
I feel like hot garbage. Can’t imagine doing this for another 3-5 months.
