Along with fibro, I also have mild neuropathy. Numbness, mild itching and tingling in my lower legs and feet, and some times cramping of calf muscles and feet.
For the past two weeks, there has been an escalation of stress due to the holidays, and having to have my 97-year-old mother-in-law with us for a week. From Thursday on I was drinking caffeinated tea to keep me awake, and Friday night I had about an inch of white wine over a wine glass full of ice. I don't drink alcohol much anymore due to the meds I am on, plus I have a low tolerance level.
Along with three cups of caffeinated tea yesterday, I also had hot cocoa which my daughter got me from Starbucks. It was a treat, so I took two lactose tabs in order to drink it.
Last night, as tired as I was, I couldn't get to sleep due to my legs feeling like they had to move and twitch, and I had to move them to stop the feeling. This went on for two hours before I gave up the ghost and got out of bed. Sat in a chair and put the moist heating pad around my legs. I sat there for almost two hours before I felt so exhausted and felt I could sleep.
I am just hoping this was an anomaly, and not yet another "wonderful" new development due to fibro. Anyone have any ideas or feedback? Thank you.

Unfortunately, RLS is one of the many "perks" that can be associated with Fibromyalgia (FMS). I have a mild case of it myself which comes and goes. There is medication available for this issue. I hope it was just a temporary glitch and that you are feeling better. Take care.

I get this once and a while. I take 400 to 800 mg of vitamin E when my legs are jumpy and somehow it does the trick. I've read that low iron can cause RLS, so you could try upping your iron intake.

My best guess is its attributable to all the caffeine, which I'm assuming you don't normally have, since you mentioned it.
