Hi All,
Has anyone tried taking ritalin as a support for fibro fog? I was previously on it for ADHD (prior to the fibro diagnosis).
I've been trying to take Ritalin 20mg randomly to see if it can help me focus. Not sure if it's working or it's placebo effect... as part of my commitment to a healthier lifestyle - I've given up my beloved coffee and so don't really know what is fibrofog, what is lack of caffeine, what is ritalin helping me, etc.
Just curious if anyone had tried it and found help?

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

I do much better without it. My fatigue is high still but at least I can get one thing done at a time. Multi-tasking a brain fog do not mix! I am doing much better at work without it. My fatigue was considerably better when I got my pain levels under control.
gkneez, ADHD meds act differently on those with ADHD/ADD than the do on people that don't have it. But, dosage is important with both, Some drs that prescribe it for fibro aren't familiar enough with the stimulants to know how to prescribe them for things other than ADHD/ADD. Adderall is stronger than Ritalin. Stronger isn't always best.
Sorry to hear you had that issue with the meds gkneez. Ritalin used to help me a lot before the Fibro - but now I actually think it's making things worse but for the opposite reason. I get so hyper focused in on what I'm doing that I literally forget everything else... I look up and 6 hours have passed while I've been hunched over my computer and I've forgotten to do the 50 other things on my to do list and I feel confused.
I've decided against using it for now.
