Anyone ever take this? Caleb's pediatrician prescribed it yesterday to replace his Elavil to help him sleep but I have concerns about it. I've already faxed a letter to his rheum about it (his rheum is 90 mins away and impossible to call... but fax works well), but thought I'd ask you guys since you are all so knowledgeable. Caleb is not sleeping at all and it's taking a huge toll on all of us. But I'm not giving him the new drug until I hear back from the Rheum.

Sleep and Fibromyalgia is never a perfect science. We all go through bouts of little or no sleep even with medication. I find the change of seasons really affects me as does a full moon. I know that Caleb has school and that makes it doubly hard when he isn't getting enough rest.
I'd go for an increase in Elavil/Amitriptyline if that is possible. Hot bath maybe with some Epsom salts or lavender to relax him (I think Johnson and Johnson makes a lavender baby wash just for convenience sake) before bed. Sometimes a sound machine or just white noise is helpful too.
Good luck. Take care.
The epsom salts bath also works well in our experience. I must try it with the lavender too, why don't I think of these things!
