Hi to all! I am currently receiving food stamps, please don't judge, and it is time to do a yearly update? ?? I don't really understand this, so bear with me please, my brainfog is at the worst ever. My problem is I am no longer able to work due to the pain and fatigue of fibromyalgia. Yes I am applying for disability, haven't gotten my first denial yet.
My question is,my worker for food stamps wants to know why I am only working 16 hours or less a week. When i tried to explain she seemed of the 'I don't believe in fibromyalgia' type and said she wants a written letter from my dr stating my inability to or limitations for work.
How do I äsk my dr to do this? Have any of you had experience with this, maybe fmla or something. I hate to sound stupid but, I don't know my limitations from day to day, so how can my dr write something ssdi vague? ! I am waiting for my dr to call me back, but don't want to feel like an idiot like I did with the social worker.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Julie

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Evidence is a wonderful thing. Letters very helpful, and you can add to them yourself. There are a couple of useful 'rating scales'; one is a simple 'cfs&finromyalgia rating scale' from www.cfidsselfhelp.org (a simple % scale....100% fully recovered, normal activity with no symptoms; 0% bedridden constantly, unable to care for self. ) I'm about 25%, up from my low of 12%!!
The other scale is the 'revised fibromyalgia symptom impact questionnaire' or 'FIQR' that's more complicated as you have to add and devide scores for the final score but it's worth trying. This one is the opposite I'm scoring...100% maximum symptom impact on you day to day....50% is your 'average' fibro case 70% comsidered 'severe'....on this one I'm at an all time high of 90%. Together they reveal I can do slightly more at home, am awake an extra hour or so, but tasks of day to day living are too much.
DM message me if you want detailed info on long term self monitoring.
Good luck getting through this hurdle. Hugs.

Do not wait to hear back from your dr. If you need something from him, make an appointment and go in ASAP. You may be denied if the letter is not in on time. The worker may or may not be able to give you an extra day or two.
