Physical therapy... omg.

So, I went to my 1st pt appointment yesterday... it was hell. I posted the other day about my herniated discs and stenosis, so I have to start pt at least for 2 weeks before I can start my epidural injections. The 1st appointment was just an evaluation so they could send in how bad I am to the insurance company and see if they will approve more. Apparently, I am pretty dang bad. The therapist couldn't believe that I had been living with this back pain for almost 5 years. She said she had no doubt I would get approval because I can only bend 45 degrees forward and -3 degrees back before almost screaming, I can only bend sode to side a little over 30 degrees and I can't lift anything over 5 pounds without it bumping my pain level up. Needless to say, when i left there an hour later, I was in a tooon of pain... I just had to come home, take my meds, lay down, and whimper as silently as possible to not wake up my 9 mo old. :(  I can't even imagine how it's going to be whrn the pt actually starts!

Physical Therapy can be very painful espeically in the beginning but it has been a life saver for me! I got off a cane i had been on almost 4 years last week monday. It is worth it!

Gentlest purrs of healing. I've undergone physical torture, ahem, "therapy", and if you have the right people? It's useful, but it is a long slog. Don't be afraid to say, "No, that's gonna be too painful!", okay? Best wishes of healing and luck.
