Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

Good things from the med is my brain fog is better. At this point I will try anything so Im just going to follow the doc on this one and see what happens.
A lot of meds also have muscle pain as a side-effect so if your pain is increased, you might google the side-effects and see if Cymbalta has that as a side-effect.
I really don't have a problem with anxiety that much, unless I'm in denial.
Anyway, I just got a new doc and he adjusted the dose of Gabapentin and added the pain pill.
My previous doc treated me, but didn't really believe in fibro. I saw him for a year and had not much pain relief. Since February, I've been horrible, almost like I was before I sought treatment. I was ready to just stop taking all the meds since I didn't see a point in taking meds without getting any relief.
I know some people take nothing and rely on natural stuff and exercise.
My doc is using both, med and non med stuff. In addition to the meds I listed above, he wants me to do massage therapy with myofascial release, accupuncture, biofeedback, and physical therapy. Also, work up my way to 45 min of exercise five days a week. Aslo doing a sleep study, to see if I have sleep apnea or some other sleep disfunction.
I don't know how satisfied you are with your doctor, but if he/she are not doing enough and trying different things if one is not working, then, maybe it's time to find a doctor who truly understands fibro.
Hope you find some relief soon.
Keep a journal of pain, sleep, food, feelings, and see what works best when and what doesn't work.
This will help you figure out what symptoms are bothering you the most.
Sometimes, medicine combinations work for one person and set another person off due to the way the symptoms start and increase. It is so important to understand how side effects can affect our well-being and yet the same medicine is helping what it is prescribed for.
Best wishes.
I do much better on SSRI's that only work on serotonin.....this helps anxiety very well. Right now I'm taking prozac...works great for me!
I hope you're able to work with your doctor to come up with a solution. As you probably know, this fibro business is trial and error....quite frustrating!
Thank you again!
