Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

Whenever I hear or say overwhelmed, I think of the line in 10 Things I Hate About You where the girl says, "I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?" And the other girl replies, "I think you can in Europe." That was a good movie...RIP Heath Ledger.
Anyway...I got a text last night from the person who coordinates events at the brewery, and through December they're doing a "made in NH" thing where every Saturday and Sunday they have a different local artisan selling stuff. So she asked if I would be able to do it and if there's a day that works. I said I'll do it and technically any Sunday except the 4th, but preferably the 11th. She asked if I could make some signs with their name/logo but preferably not ornaments since they're selling them-which is totally fair. It'll be a good way to support them, support local artists in general, and hopefully make some $. If I sell a few signs for $20-50 (depending on size, I'll make some smaller based on the wood I have available and it's quicker, but still bigger than ornament size) I could make some decent money over the course of an afternoon. I don't want to do the week before Christmas because I'll be working on stuff for presents and I don't know if the brewery will be as busy...people will be traveling possibly or just getting ready, and may be done shopping. So now I'm in the mindset of, "how much can I get done in 3 weeks?" If I invoke my competitive side and treat it as a competition maybe I can motivate myself more? I'm sitting here at my island now with a pile of wood and my machine plugged in and ready to go...gonna finish the cat ornament I posted the sketch of this weekend, and I'll make a couple more paw prints because I sold a couple of those (and I'll bring some to the brewery too, anything Christmas-y or ornament size will go), and then dive into brewery signs. All the signs. This is basically my life from now to Christmas:

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Your talent will sell so much. I think it’s very exciting!
H and J will be here shortly. Big day of Christmas decorating and Christmas cookie baking. So I need to end my post here.
Blessings to all. Most especially our dear Leo.
I finally dragged myself out of bed. Smurf has had his more detailed spa session followed by a generous allotment of cat nip. He is now wearing it and loafing around somewhere. I've parceled out some salami and pepperoni for pizza, got it bagged and into the freezer. I suppose that I should find my pills and some breakfast.
No particular plans today. I need to run the vacuum and that's about it. I will most likely work on some genealogy and watch TV. Maybe even nap since I have the house to myself.
Miki - I hope that you don't spin yourself into the ground today. Making some extra money will really help you out. I'm quite sure whatever you come up with for the brewery will be spectacular. I am sorry about the incident with your Dad. That's a lot of money. He seems to have had some issues for a while based on your descriptions. My Dad had dementia for about a decade. Either way, it's a tough thing to deal with.
Merry - I just know that you are going to have the best day with H & J. That sounds like so much fun. I think that I will get my two trees out next week sometime. I hope Mr. Brewer is back to his feisty self too.
Leo - I hope that you and Mr. Leo are OK and have figured out how to get home. Sending healing vibes your way and a hug!
Time for me to get meds and brunch. I will check back later. Waves at everyone!
3rd day of a winter storm here and I wish it would just stop already. Hopefully tomorrow.
I am still worse off from my vestibular freak out on Wednesday night, but a bit of improvement. It is harder to tolerate the home exercises for it too. It blows. I think I need to find someone to drive me to my medical appointments for awhile . Even the close ones are too difficult right now. I don't feel safe. All the head turning required for driving is hard with vestibular problems.
I am off to stretch my neck and probably watch a movie after a late dinner.
Heres whats really bothering me. Abby (our dog whos 11 1/2 but a small dog) has been laying around today more than normal, but did not groan or moan etc just was not real active, well its cold she DOES have arthritis. Well after i took a shower she came up to me shaking when she walked (figured out because of pain that kicked in bad) and you could just see the pain in her eyes and she was moaning. This was the first time i ever remember that she never came in the bathroom by me when i was in the shower or drying off/getting dressed, she is my literal shadow so is madeline but abby more so.. Matt had gone to help mom when i got out of the shower, so i had to call him home, i did not want to take her off my lap if i did not have to, first time in her life she did not get up to get her canned food (how we give her her daily pain meds) we gave her a gabapentin for the first time, they gave her 50mg she can have one every 12 hours as needed. First time shes needed it we got it 2 weeks ago because of the last time she had a bad pain day but today she was in worse pain then that last time. I feel SO guilty right now for not giving her the gabapentin sooner, i do not want to over medicate her but i also do not want her like she got today. Its been almost 4 hours now and shes in less pain, not no pain but less. Matt is getting her meloxicam and glucosamine with msm ready now in the rest of her canned food for today. She gets those every night. But i feel like a horrible pet mommy tonight. I should have known sooner, its so hard to sometimes tell if a pet is in pain if they dont groan or moan or its not showing in their eyes yet. I feel like i caused her to suffer all day without realizing. She is sound asleep laying on blankets Matt put on the couch for her and got her comfy on. We always put a warmer dog jacket in the dryer then on her (not too hot but warm to keep her warm) we only keep her long enough outside to go potty then right back in. If she had to live in the pain she was in earlier, i would not keep her around, i would do the humane thing and have her put to sleep. But it would kill me so bad :( shes my child! I am so dang attached to her, this is just eating me up, but im scared that its not too far off. Mom said im over reacting but that sheunderstands why. SHe said she might need gabapentin daily in the winter and too keep close tabs on her and call the vet once i see how she does the next couple days. We dont have a lot of extra money but i will cut any corners i have to to make sure she has any meds she needs for comfort!
Today I have done some cleaning and have laundry in progress. It is bitterly cold here today so I am not pushing much of anything. I have to run the vacuum in the family room and that is it for today.
My family and Mom made it NC yesterday evening. The house that they have rented looks very nice. It has an elevator which is perfect for my Mom. The houses along the water are usually 3 stories. This one has been listed for $800K a couple of times. It has a pool and a hot tub too. I'm on my own for Thanksgiving unless my partner's cousin asks me to dinner.
AngelaJo - You are not a bad pet parent. How are you supposed to know that Abby's pain level might spike with the cold weather? Now you know and can medicate accordingly. We all want our pets to be comfortable and happy. Sometimes that doesn't happen. But, you have medicated her and learned that this is what she may need now. Please don't be so hard on yourself.
Off to run the vacuum and call it a day. My partner should be home shortly. Waves at everyone!
Matt works until 4 we will eat at 6 so he can help get the potaotes etc made.
