What a mess!

It is just devastating...

A tragedy for sure!

Been watching it on the news - you're in our thoughts - all who are affected by the explosion and the oil.

This will definitely impact a lot of different industries. I'll be thinking of all the people this will affect and all the aquatic wildlife that will be destroyed. Its a sad sad situation.

That is so sad Cajun Tiger , all the tragedy that has been there and now this, You are in my prayers too and all the living things that have and will be lost in the waters.

My heart and prayers are with all of those effected by this oil spill.

The thought now is that a N. Korea sub that was in the area at the time may have hit it with a missile (this comes from Russian intelligence). This would explain the SWAT teams patrolling the other oil rigs now. Never has something like this happened to an offshore oil rig and those who build them say it is virtually impossible for this happen. Will have to see how it plays out I guess.

Anyway, my thoughts are with you folks in the gulf right now. I can only imagine how devastating this will be to the economy in that area :(

We are all keeping a wary eye on this huge spill. My prayers go out to all the families who lost loved ones, and to the whole gulf coast region.
Over here in Northwest Florida, we are all pretty sickened by whats happened. We have sugar white beaches here, and the magnitude of what this could do to our tourist industry is very real. This area relys heavily on tourism for income and revenue.

I just went on a dolphin cruise that my son works on last Wednesday with my SIL, and best friend. The dolphins were beautiful, and we saw so many of them! The water was a beautiful emerald green, and deep blue.

This is a tragedy. We are going to lose so much sea life...such as sea turtles, dolphins, birds, etc. This is also a large fishing area with a huge fleet of fishing boats. This could be devastating to all those lifelong fisherman who rely on the tourists who come here to go fishing in the gulf. So many will lose everything they have
earned through blood, sweat and tears to this spill. Its such a huge shame....

Fibrosucks..I haven't heard the submarine story, but ANYTHING is possible. If that IS what happened the Noth Koreans should be held accountable with sanctions, boycotts by the american people, and other nations and not be allowed to come into our gulf or cruise our seashores from the atlantic to the pacific oceans, all this AFTER we blow that sub out of the water!!
If we do catch them sneaking around off our coasts we should shoot first and ask questions later!

In my thoughts and prayers.

It turns out that the rig was run by BP but is actually owned by a company in South Korea! To me sabotage is starting to sound very likely.

Thank you all for your responses and kind words....Sunshine, this is already hitting us, so I know La will suffer.....it is my hope that the rest of our neighboring Gulf States will not be impacted by the spill....hopefully worst case scenarios won't come to pass...

I haven't heard about the possibility of sabotage, but who knows? I just hope and pray they can cap this leak soon.....

I know we have alot of fellow fibro suffers in these areas and I can't imagion the add stress this will cause.

Sending prayers for those that are dealing with this right in their own back yards and those that will be feeling the fianacial effects that it will also bring.
