Is it the actual vaginal opening or in the front?
Nothing is TMI as far as I am concerned. I mean it is what it is and these are real issues.
Is it burning and itching similar to a yeast infection, UTI, etc.? Or, if it were ANYWHERE else, would you assume it was nerve-related, as we FMers often experience? I ask b/c beween endometriosis and my scarring after my accident, I can get some odd tingles, buzzes, and neuropathic itching in the region of my pubic bone, groin, and yes, vagina and even toward the rectum---but for me it's scarring and so on. (Flares up with my monthly cycle due to water retention-type swelling.)
It may be FM related in the sense of being neurological, but if it is in that region, it's best to run it past a GYN to be safe. and to see if there is perhaps something "lurking" down under. I had an asymptomatic yeast infection once---a faint occasional burn or itch, nothing more, for months, no unusual yuck, but at my annual exam the swab showed unusual cells that were consistent with asymptomatic yeast and they were able to fix that right up for me.
It could be a manifestation of interstitial cystitis as well, which is seen in some people with FM. I'm lucky to not have teh IC issue, but many here do, and may be able to shed more light on that possibility.
Good luck, and I am sending healing vibes, because wow that is not a place to have the discomfort....
I am just tossing ideas out, not a doc or anything, but going off what in my life has given my girl parts the unhappies.
It could be many things. You might have a yeast infection that comes and goes and has not been properly treated. It could be so many things.
Aside from Interstitial Cystitis this below is very common with Fibromyalgia.
Vulvodynia - Evidence suggests that Vulvar Pain Syndrome including vaginal spasms, painful intercourse, and vulvitis (irritation of the lips) may be more common in women with FMS.
Also drink Cranberry Juice too. You can dilute it with water if you want. It is very delicious. Make sure that you wear cotton panties too. I would also suggest that when you go to sleep let it air out and breathe...LOL
Hope you will be okay.
Vaginal itching, dryness. Fibromyalgia, Sjorgens or lupus?
QUESTION:
I have had vaginal itching for aprox 3-4 months now, mostly on the lubia and clitorious area. I have noticed dryness I have never had before. I have been battling some un identified autoimmune problem. Doctors say it could be lupus, fibromyalgia and sjorgens. Could this itching be related to the autoimmune problem I'm having?
ANSWER:
Autoimmune conditions can result in various effects on different parts of the body, and at the same time the medications prescribed to treat these conditions can also result in various side effects that could be causing your symptoms.
But before assuming these conditions to be the cause I would request you to go about a urine analysis and a vaginal swab test to rule out infections as the cause.

I drink almost a gallon of water a day, I believe in the curative powers.
Clitorious and pelvic bone area is where it burns. I use diaper rash ointment which helps a lot. Don't laugh but ice or ice pack helps a lot also. Lol. I tell my hubby I itch and he tells me he will scrath my itch. Lol. It is not vagina, it is just weird.
I have had a lot of female problems in the past. Three laporoscopies since I was 16, C-section (hip to hip), endometriosis, falopian and ovarian cysts.
I have been diagnosed with several things, one of which is still in the air. I tested positive on an ANA blood work up. I do not have RA or Sajornes. But they have not run any more tests, such as getting a refers score for Lupus. Once this Rheumy I saw DX me with FM she told me she does not treat FM. I have not been back. Funny thing is when she first came in the room she asked me his long I had the rash on my face. I was shocked, I never realized I had a rash, just thought my face was red. After research, it is a sign of Lupus.
My primary thinks I might have Nueropathy, so I gave a neurologist appt Nov 4, hopefully he will do something
So ive been complaining about my itchy vagina for about a week. Its been bothering me for three. I tried every cream/balm known to man an ob just kept saying "its normal". I had even noticed the texture of my vaginal skin had changed and I had absolutely ZERO discharge. So today I grabbed a mirror and looked at my vagina. I noticed that my clitoris (the itchiest part) was MUCH more exposed due to the hood receeding from the swelling and pressure! Figuring it was just dry/irritated since it was newly exposed I put some ky natural moisturizing liquid on it and guess what...it INSTANTLY stopped. My poor lips and clitoris were just chapped! My ob apparently didnt recognize the change since he looks at TONS of vaginas all day. I remember someone posting earlier about itchy clitoris but cant remember her name. So pass the info on ladies! Apparently a dry crotch is just as much a pain as "swamp crotch". lol I didnt realize how important discharge was. But keeps those lips lubed ladies! Lol

Thanks for the info Daisy. I will try the KY. That might be the problem...
Let me know what happens. Try to not itch and pat it cause the more you it the more it itches.
Maybe some vaseline until you get the ky liquid stuff. I think they make it for dryness. Ask the Pharmacist.
But don't ignore it and talk to your Doctor.
Is that a hint? LOL
You are too cute.
I guess I am in the dark with thus disease. There are so many different symptoms to fibro. And now I have my doc, wanting me tested for Nueropathy. I have diabetes, so Nueropathy us a good bet, but where does one begin and the other end?
A lot of anxiety, about several things. Especially during a flare.
Have you ever talked to your Doctor about Gabapentin or Lyrica?
Lyrica actually is one of the 3 Medications that has been approved by the FDA to treat Fibromyalgia. It was originally made for Diabetic nerve pain but they found that it helped with nerve pain in Fibro too.
So many things with Fibro mimic other things and it is so difficult to figure out what is what and then what to do and it just feels like it doesn't stop. Does that make sense?
I wonder if it is a combination of nerve pain from Fibro AND your Diabetes? Have you asked your Doctor that question? Are you Insulin dependent? Did you have Diabetes before or after you were diagnosed with Fibromyalgia? Just wondering.
