Crap. I need a new furnace. It won't be put in until next week sometime .The company is suppose to bring me electric heaters to use until then, sometime in the morning. I hope I hear the phone - I have been awake almost 24 hours. Well, at least I don't live on the east coast - it would take much longer to get service during a storm.

I feel for you! I had to have someone come out to my house Thursday b/c my thermostat stopped working. I'm sorry you are dealing with the cold. I hope you are getting help this morning. We don't need extra stress it causes so many other issues. Stay warm, I'm thinking about you!

twinmom - Yes, more stress on top of the big stress that the ortho Dr mess that I have been dealing with. I dont do stress well - can turn into a panic attack easily.

They finally came at 1130 this morning and brought the electric heaters. It was really cold in my house by then. They gave me papers and pamphlets re my options. There is also an option of a package deal to get a new air conditioner to consider. My air conditioner is very old and I keep waiting for it to crap out and it will at the worse possible time eventually. For now I have decided not to decide until I get a nap. The guy comes back tomorrow at 1pm , so I have until then to decide. It is getting warmer in here with the electrical heaters but my nose and feet are still cold and my all over pain is horrible and then there is the left arm pain that is not any better after 27 days. Sorry, I am really whiny. i am off to have a cup of hot decaff tea and a nap if I can get the hamsters in my head to go away.

Your house insurance might pay for a hotel. When my electricity went out after Hurricaine Irene, I used my renters insurance to move into a hotel. Was very happy.

At my house electric heaters didn't work that great, and with your arm problems--well, I feel for you. My electricity went out for about eight hours last week due to a downed tree, and I was just in my regular state of pain and being sensitive to cold. I wasn't happy, even though it wasn't any big thing for me living out in the country.

I am warming up the house with the electric heaters - you have to turn them off at night. It is cold in here. At least the sun is out today and it is suppose to warmer out than yesterday - 30 something. I hope they can get my new furnace in on Monday. The sales guy is coming at 1PM today for my decision on which package and of course get my money. I am not use to making these big money household decisions on my own - my ex and I made them together. Live and learn I guess.

More happiness coming your way over the new furnace. I got a new one a few years ago, but still use my one dish-type electric heater. It's only me in the house now, so I just carry it with me if I'm going to be gone for long. It sure cut down on my power bill.
