So overwhelmed with these new physical challenges I'm experiencing. Due to having more frequent flare ups has caused me to take 6 days off from work this month. Trying to get caught up on my work is beyond stressful. Dont know how much I can continue to push through.

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. The *cause* of your fibro may not be the same as others ---- so if it is autoimmune, then a doctor should find indications in bloodwork. Mostly, NEUROlogists treat it these days, as it is consider a neuro-muscular disorder.
Basicaly, the best advice, which has helped me for 25 years now, is:
1. Eat balanced, healthy diet
2. Hydration in moderation
3. Remember that you are waking up where other people end the day ----- so gentle exercise! GENTLE. As if you're injured.
4. Get bloodwork to check for vitamin deficiencies. We've seen a few people here cured when it turned out they had vitamin issues ----- Vitamin D, or B12, for examples.
5. In the bloodwork, a good doc will also check for thyroid and other hormone imbalances. We've seen that here, too. (I've been here since 2010.)
6. Take de-stressed or no-stress time every day.
7. Fibromyalgia for Dummies is our go-to beginner's guidxe to this weird complex of symptoms.
8. One fix does not fit all. On this board alone, currently, IIRC, we have people on NSAIDs for pain (me); SSRI/SNRIs (not me, since those help about 1/3 of us); and any given cocktail of other drugs imaginable. Some poeple get great symptom control and some don't. We can't predict it

9. Welcome aboard! This ship has luxury cabins for all, and there is NO judgment here about anything you need to complain about, be it a spouse, work, pain, or just "I used to do more, this sucks"; We all feel it, too. :-)
Speaking to Leo's statement regarding causation, I also have a neurologic disorder separate from Fibro. Meds which control that have helped tremendously with the pain. I also work out quite heavily since getting my pain levels under control BUT that is not recommended, it just works for me.
We are glad to meet you and also sorry you're here.
