Hi all, My name is Luz and I am 34 yrs old. I am a mother and a wife suffering from Fibromyalgia, PseudoCerebri Tumor and many other diseases. I am no longer able to work, Drs don't understand or don't know care to properly treat my disease. I am obese for several reasons from me like food but mostly because every medication makes you gain weight, the pain and illness I feel makes it harder to be active. showering alone is a serious struggle. I feel lost, angry, lonely, inadequate, stressed, and just as if no one understands me. I have no friends, my family is a whole other story, my husband works 12-14 hour days to keep bills paid, kids are dealing with school and being kids, I can't do anything that I was able to do before so I'm literally alone. I'm angry that I have this disease and that it's such a struggle to live, survive.
I just need/want someone to talk to, someone who would understand, someone to listen to me and that I can listen to them.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

It is very common for people with Fibromyalgia to have multiple underlying health issues.
I'd like to suggest that you purchase the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" which is available on Amazon. It will give you a comprehensive overview of this complex illness and a lot of ways to try and manage it. The book is also a good
educational tool for family members and friends.
Weight gain from medication, anxiety and other issues is a common problem. You are not alone with that issue. Doctors tend to think that it is OK for a patient to gain 30 pounds if the medication causing the weight gain alleviates another issue. It isn't. You have to be your own best advocate and ask for another solution. And, keep asking.
Being sedimentary is not a good thing with Fibromyalgia. Try to keep moving or you will become seriously deconditioned. Trying to come back from that is extremely difficult. Any exercise better than none.
Pacing is extremely important when learning to manage this disease. Break tasks down into increments that are managable. Take breaks. Stay hydrated with water and respect your limits.
Have you considered seeing a professional for some extra support? Many of us see someone. Cognitive Behaivoral Therapy will give you tools to better cope with a chronic illness diagnosis.
And fina!ly, this is a very active group. Daily check in is hosted by Leo. Look for the Puma avatar and they say of the week in the heading. It is a good way to get to know everyone. I hope to see you around the neighborhood. You are not alone!
