I went thru that with my medicaid this past fall, had to go over a month without my oxycodone, and they wouldnt even give me norco for awhile. I had nothing but motrin 800mg. I hope you get it straightened out soon!!!!!! Prayers for you

Thanks for understanding. It's so hard, we lose control over our bodies, our lives, and then, this! How dare they counter-advise my pain dr.? Is it just the $, or is the fear of opoid addiction now loose in the land? Tired from panic attack.

I'm losing my insurance with the repeal of ACA, such as my insurance is, and between one thing and another.... Meds are becoming a marathon to get. The addiction fear is ramping up b/c they're realizing Tramadol and Fentanyl are now being abused, since they cut off percocet and vicodin supplies, and they're handing out almost nothing from what I can tell. Big hugs of sympathy.

If I can't deal with my pain, I won't be able to do the few things I already do. Classes, exercise, social llife. I won't have half the activities I enjoy, now. Sorry to hear about your problems, too. Drug dependent, is not drug addicted.

Can you cut them in half till your doc gets back to you?

Good idea. Hopefully, won't need to. Half as much won't do the trick. I'm already on low dosage. (Why Humana is complaining about this is ridiculous and unknowable.). I do have some time release put away for a rainy day. Thank G-d.

It is really the CDC that has gone on an absolutely insane crusade against opiods, because of the problems with addiction. People like us who take them carefully as directed are running into problems left and right. I had to go off my sleep med, because although I've been taking clonopin and Tylenol #3 for 15 years, suddenly the CDC is worried I'm going to die. Actually, I find that going off benzodiazpines is worse than codeine. Fortunately, I had gone on a CPAP about a year ago and had started to slowly reduce my benzodiazpines. So far it has gone pretty well, but I am afraid that when I get down to none, I may never sleep again. And last week, the doc they stuck me with to help me with the benzodiazapines declared that he didn't believe I had pain at all (after 40 years of pain), and wouldn't refill my prescription for Tylenol #3. Tylenol #3, isn't as difficult to get off of as oxycodone, and I did have a few left, so there was a lot of cutting of pills. Fortunately, my rheumatologist was willing to give me more pain meds (in fact, after me asking her if she thought I should keep taking them, she said yes, since I had tried everything else). Unfortunately, it took a week for the prescription to get to the pharmacy from across the country.

Meanwhile, the whole thing has backfired for the country and there are more overdose deaths than there were before, since addicts will take anything, and suppliers will sell them anything, so heroin is being mixed with fentanyl and killing the addicts at greater numbers.

Even in the anti opiate literature, they say that only 5% of people who take opiates for chronic pain for more than a year, become addicts. We are dependent, since there just isn't anything else that works as well for pain, but we are looking for pain relief, not any kind of high.

Anyway, I got my prescription on Friday. I hope you get your situation sorted out soon.

Leo, have you tried DrugsRx? I had an expensive drug that insurance wouldn't pay for, so I did get the coupon from DrugsRx, and got it for a much reduce price compared to retail.

Same thing is happening to me, not only my pain pills but my antidepressant! They claim I can die from this cocktail but I've been taking them 3 years and I'm not dead yet!

Our state requires script for opiates and my Tramadol. I work with a hospital group that has me sign a pain and opioid use agreement 1x per year and tests me quarterly when I see my Dr for script. No problems ever. Could there be some other clinic, program, whatever which would be more responsive? I would,also ads most insurers have people to help patients navigate the minefields. I also hope you aren't trying to do,this all yourself.
