My name is Alonzo. Believe it or not MEN can get Fibromyalgia! Anyway I have I have fibromyalgia. I also suffer from severe back pain due to being thrown off a horse many years ago.
I have had a severe flare-up over the last several months. I was taking care of my father and having to help lift him and do self-care for him caused my conditions to worsen.
Also he passed away and the stress of of being with him when that happened and the grief of losing him has made things unbearable at times.

Fun facts to up your day:The Big Bang wasn't IN space... it was OF space. How does that happen? Well, now you know why I'm NOT a physicist. Cuz I dunno. It just happened. Thena gain a new hypothesis is that our "black energy/matter" is actually waste dumped in our universe from somewhere else's black holes. How and all that? Don't ask. You start getting all "The Matrix" and muttering...

I'm sorry for your suffering and the loss of your father.
Welcome to the group.
You have our collective condolences for your loss, and the stress it's put on you, and the flare that causes. Stress is my main flare trigger. Gentlest healing to you, inside and out.

I know guys with fibro and there are several here on the board. They pop up from time to time. Make yourself at home!
Again, welcome.
Currently experiencing a relatively good status, probably due to several months of unemployment, allowing me more sleep, more exercise, and less stress. This will likely come to an end soon, as it appears a company may hire me soon. Sleep helps me the most, so it will become a huge challenge to get enough once I begin working again.
Welcome to the site. Lots of great people here with useful advice. For me, keeping my routines on an even keel helps me control my symptoms. Good diet, decent exercise, sleep, sleep, sleep, and surrounding myself with loved ones - friends and family. Best wishes, my friend.
